Which Wembley Stadium do you have?

Recommended Posts

I visited a friend today to help improving his P3Dv5 setup. He said he has v5.3. We flew north of Heathrow and I spotted Wembley Stadium. It was the new one opened in 2007.

When I got home i checked my system running 5.3HF2 and it was the old Stadium. With the two towers. I suspect he has 5.4.

Could any with 5.4 please confirm which Wembley they have please?

I use Orbx GB TrueEarth so I am unable to verify in-game but these were the files I had in my scenery folder (maybe you can double-check with your own ones):

My theory.... Ray's friend did it on purpose knowing Ray would leave his home thinking about it 😜

He used a BGL editor .... Eheheheh... BTW... Where's Wembley? Is that a soccer club stadium? 😎

Thanks. I also have those 4 files but two are dated Jan 22 and 2 dated Oct 2020. You don't say what version of P3D.

I suspect he has some additional scenery package. I did briefly look through his setup and saw a couple of ORBX addons but didn't recognise what it was. I'm speaking to him later this morning so will check.

It's a world-famous stadium used for football, rugby and LIve Aid concert in 1985. If you're old enough perhaps you remember that with Phil Collins performing at Wemblay and then flying on Concorde to perform in Philadelphia on the same day.

Around 6 miles north of Heathrow,

Thanks. I spoke to him but he’s not sure what he’s installed. I’m sure you’ll have the latest one with TE. 😉

Haha that is true and I can thoroughly recommend it even though it is only summer textures!

That’s the downside and why I haven’t taken the plunge. 😟

Thanks Fouad. This is an utter shambles from Lockheed-Martin. The new stadium was opened in March 2007. v5 of P3D was released on 14 April 2020. That’s over 13 years for LM to update the scenery. Why did they not update one of the biggest cities in the world?

Because Wembley stadium serves no use to the training organisations that p3d is developed for- but you probably knew this deep down already 😀

Does The Shard? Or Buckingham Palace? Or the Tower of London? I don’t imagine those do either but they’re faithfully reproduced.

I'm betting that LM simply imported the landmark scenery objects from FSX, which is why they even exist in the P3D scenery.
