flying buildings?

Featured Replies

I have installed fsx just now on another pc and have already found two of my favourite airports have hanging in the sky. Both (Innsbruck and Sion) are in the Alps. Does anybody know what this is about?

Well, a couple things: Are you running everything completely stock (any add-on mesh products?)?. If you have a 3rd party mesh installed, or not, I would check you mesh resolution setting. I would recommend a setting of 10m in these areas.Did this happen after a flight into the airports? Or before? (starting-up at the airport location).I occasionally get this problem as well, and I remember Holger S. stating in a thread, (If I remember correctly) some time ago, this can happen when memory becomes depleted after/during a flight. In other words, you could leave an airport with everything 'on the ground', take off over a detailed scenery area, return to the airport, and see the same buildings floating that were not before take-off.Not really sure what we can do but hope eventually the/new hardware eventually catches up with some of these issues, and/or update as we can afford. You may also consider lowering you autogen settings....but not really sure how helpful that is.

Yes, the version is still naked. And I'm almost sure those hanging buildings were there before takeoff. Won't the lowering down of the settings affect my overall scenery. Isn't that a pity?

Lowering the setting? Not at all, the mesh resolution is better at 10 vs 38 (or whatever). In other words, a lower number in this case is better, not worse. It just isn't necessary to lower it 'below' 10m, as that is about the best mesh we have available right now.
