May 8, 20242 yr I understand how to use the Stream Deck software (I think). I have installed Lorby-SI AxisAndOhs plug-in and the Default AP demo set. I'm trying to set my own backgrounds and customise the text readout but it seems to be impossible currently as the Stream Deck software doesn't even reflect my changes/edits after clicking Submit/Save. Half the time AxisAndOhs disconnects from MSFS and I can't figure out why (default port in use perhaps?). Q. What do I need to do (step by step please) to be able to see my changes reflected in real time in Stream Deck Settings / AxisAndOhs plugin? Q2. Does it matter what order I start a) MSFS, b) Stream Deck Settings, C) AxisAndOhs? Q3. Do I have to use the Stream Deck Settings to customise the buttons etc? That editing window is laggy and small and driving me crazy. Q4. Is it ok to click the X on the AxisAndOhs window that now pops up every time I start MSFS? The top menu bar icon for A&O has a white outline. Q5. Can the text readout be centred using the Rotary Encoder or do I need to use the Canvas option? Q6. Where do I put the value variable e.g. AUTOPILOT HEADING LOCK DIR, Degrees (that works in the Rotary Encoder option) in the Rotary Encoder Canvas option? Q7. How do you remove a 'Back Color:' in Stream Deck Settings? Thank you, Toby Edited May 8, 20242 yr by toby23 Ryzen 5800X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, Windows 11Link to my: Dynamic Flight Dispatch Tool
May 8, 20242 yr Commercial Member Q1: what do you mean? I'm not sure that I understand the question. Where are you making changes that you want to see where in real time? Q2: not really. What do you mean by "Stream Deck Settings", what is that? Q3: see Q2, what do you mean by "StreamDeck Settings"? The Properties Editor in the Elgato Software, where you configure each Action? Yes, you have to use that, that is how it works. Q4: What do you mean, are you closing the AAO app entirely? If you do that, then the StreamDeck Profiles will no longer work. AAO is the bridge between the SD Plugin and the simulator. Q5: Canvas Q6: in a Text Definition. There is a PDF that comes with the SD Plugin where there is a short description of all AAO actions. Multigauge and Rotary Canvas use multiple layers of images and text, much like the simulator gauges of old did. LORBY-SI
May 8, 20242 yr Commercial Member Q1: Simulator and AAO have to be running, AAO must be started "As Administrator", AAO must be connected to the sim, you must be sitting in the cockpit so that AAO shows the aircraft title on the main screen, where Axis and Buttons are managed. Only then the StreamDeck plugin does anything at all. Including "showing changes in real time". Sometimes it may be necessary to cycle between profiles on the SD when it gets stuck, but by and large that is how it works. LORBY-SI

May 8, 20242 yr Author Lorby, I would be so grateful if you were able to jump on a Discord call to clarify a few things... I am really struggling to get over some initial hurdles with this software. Thanks, Toby Ryzen 5800X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, Windows 11Link to my: Dynamic Flight Dispatch Tool

Can you post a screenshot? 3 minutes ago, toby23 said: I can't find any documentation on how to configure the Rotary Encoder Canvas.. It is the same procedure as with the MultiGauge. Should be mentioned somewhere in there. LORBY-SI

Then I would be grateful if you could continue to help me understand how to use your plugin to configure the rotary dials because I have done what I think I need to but they are not displaying anything. How about downloading a profile from flightsim.to that was made for the SD Plus as reference? Not only can you learn a lot from that, but on that site you will also get things like Icon packages made by the various authors. I hope that I won't get kicked off AVSIM for this, but here is a link to the StreamDeck category on flightsim dot to:https://flightsim.to/others/stream-deck/ Edited May 8, 20242 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI

I have looked at a few but they are very A320/737 centric and I am designing for GA. I have tried to copy the formatting too but it just isn't showing anything.. 1 sec, I'll post some images and maybe you can see what I am doing wrong... To be honsest, I haven't created a lot of those myself. I just provide the hammer, I do not build the house. There are probably many tricks or pitfalls that I am not aware of. The StreamDeck plugin is just a freeware example about how to use the AAO WebAPI. It was never intended as a main feature (which is why it is not part of the retail package). LORBY-SI
May 8, 20242 yr Author Here I am trying to change the 'Back Color:' to 'empty' to get rid of the black background and show my custom background image but I cannot figure out how to delete the colour. Clicking on the Colour Box does not give a 'transparent' option.. Edited May 8, 20242 yr by toby23 Ryzen 5800X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, Windows 11Link to my: Dynamic Flight Dispatch Tool
