June 2, 20242 yr Still tweaking my new rig with the rtx4090. Wow, I am impressed with the improved performance over the old rig with the 3070ti. Whats happening is when i click on monitor 2 to perform a task, the frame rate drops by one half, and the mouse cursor has to be clicked well left of the buttons. I am playing the game on monitor 1. Why would switching to monitor2 cause this to happen. Never happened on the old rig.I am using TAA with frame generation ON. Monitor 1 is on a DP and is 4K, monitor 2 is HDMI and is a 1440p. June 2, 20242 yr Frame Generation only works on your " main monitor" as selected in windows and nvidia CP , its annoying i know i have the same with my dual monitor set up , just have to get used to it 😏 ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. June 4, 20242 yr I'm not sure that's the only reason this is happening, because it happens to me when I switch out of VR. Everything, including the menus, gets ultra slow, and the mouse cursor is half an inch or so below what actually gets clicked. And I have a 3070Ti and am not running any FG mods. Like OP, I'm doing a resolution switch when I drop from VR, from the 4k Reverb G2 to the HD monitor. I suspect MSFS is freaking out at the resolution change and doesn't know what to do with itself. Hi Jeff, I not only have this issue with FG on but also I often see oscillating brightness out the window looking at various types of tarmac in certain lighting conditions when moving or panning and it's frequently enough that I don't use FG. What was the biggest asset for 4090 for me is putting Render Scaling at 160 and of course ample VRAM now. I also use AMD FidelityFX maxed at 200 along w/ TAA and this renders the best possible image quality and can maintain a frame rate of at least 45 anywhere in any plane. By the time you get to 45 the benefit of 60 or 70 fps doesn't add much, w/ the key being stutter-free and ultra smooth animation. I can easily bump that base rate up to 60 often but there is little point except to run hotter and use more power.
