June 3, 20242 yr After installing manually or using Simbrief's installer, when I select load in MSFS there is no flight play or rte. I can see it if I check it's location but not when trying to load. I have hidden folders selected. Bob G. June 3, 20242 yr Are you sure that you put the file in the correct folder? In MSFS you have to select load and then "from this PC" to end up in the folder where you should put it. Default I guess it is (at least on my install) located under appdata/local/packages/Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe/LocalState In my case, when using simbrief web GUI, the file is just downloaded into the downloads folder and I move it manually into above folder and it always works... Could you maybe make a screenshot of your file sitting in the correct folder? Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
June 3, 20242 yr Author Yes, it has been installed into the correct folder. LocalState/Packages/PMDG737-700/work/flight plans. It's there when using file explorer but there is no choice for rte. file names. Only pln. June 3, 20242 yr In simbrief downloader you should choose the pmdg format. Edited June 3, 20242 yr by StoneDoor
June 3, 20242 yr Are you trying to load the flight plan for use with the in-game ATC, or just with the PMDG? If it's the PMDG, you don't need to use the downloader. You can request it via the tablet and it handles the downloader.
June 3, 20242 yr Author So, there really is no need to download it from Simbrief if I am using a PMDG aircraft. Why would I want to download a rte. flight plan? Since the tablet takes care of it when I use it to the FMC. June 3, 20242 yr Just now, Vineguy said: Why would I want to download a rte. flight plan? If you are using the in-game ATC, which is why I asked, to get it to see the flight plan you have to export it as an .rte file and load it into the sim that way for the ATC to follow your path. If not, then yes, just the tablet is all you need now.
June 3, 20242 yr Author Thanks for the replies. I have tried both and also tried using FSHUD and everything works fine until I am told to descend. When I enter the new altitude and VS the LNAV disconnects and I am history. I am new to the PMDG aircraft and have read the introduction pdf file, but I can't find anything that refers to what I maybe doing wrong. Any help for a new user would be appreciated. Bob G.
