July 7, 20241 yr Two questions: 1. do you use live weather (if yes: inSim or external tool like active sky or so)? 2. When you PULL the alt knob (instead of pushing it) and go into an open descent - does it work? And what is the PERF page showing then (still in CLB?)

When you PULL the alt knob (instead of pushing it) and go into an open descent - does it work? And what is the PERF page showing then (still in CLB?) Thanks for the reply. I have just completed two short test flights, and all worked as it should. The only difference I did was on the INIT page, the flight altitude was already inserted so I left alone. Today I over typed it. Perhaps this is where I was going wrong. Most likely not relevant now but in answer to your questions: 1. I use the sim live weather 2. Using Open Descent the plane did descend correctly, except it did not recognise passing through 18000ft transition altitude. The Perf Climb page was still present, under UTC and Dist were a series of dashes. I am hoping though that all is now working as it should. Thanks again.
July 7, 20241 yr Interesting finding. Maybe at some time you could repeat that (without editing/overwriting the crz level manually) and see if the issue is appearing again. Would be interesting for us - and I can't reproduce it, since I didn't alter the crz level so far and it works for me. Also I assume the issue happened on any flight with any crz level, didn't it?

I have just completed two more flights. 1: I did not touch the displayed altitude on the INIT page - performance page stuck in climb 2: I over wrote the flight level in INIT - plane behaved correctly. Over the last couple of weeks I have departed several airports with different cruise levels, and the flight failed each time. It seems I must input the flight level manually. July 8, 20241 yr Hey Andy, pls check if you're on latest development version!! (we got some issues last week) Also pls try it without anything else in community folder (A32NX and SimBridge only). Just to see if it is a matter of conflicting addons. AND: if the issue appears again. Pls make a screenshot of the cockpit in crz and show it to me. I need to see the FMS (PERF page); Altimeter setting (STD) and PFD (especially the flight mode annunciater). Edited July 8, 20241 yr by Watsi

I completed a successful light this morning by overtyping the planned altitude on the INIT page. I have just tried a test flight not touching the altitude displayed on INIT and the flight stuck in CLIMB. I have tried previously with the community folder empty but it made no difference, I also tried not using live weather. I have taken a screen shot but do not know how to insert it. I have at the moment pasted it into a word document. I have taken a photo too if that makes it easier.

When you mention the A32NX do you mean the ASOBO A320 NEO v2? Thx! July 8, 20241 yr Author Hi Watsi, imgur will not let me set up an account from the UK. I have three photos (I got in a mess trying to get 3 screen shots!). Is there any other way of getting them to you. Personally, I am now quite happy as knowing I have to over write the altitude in INIT the plane works well. 51 minutes ago, jcomm said: @Watsi, I haven't tested what Andy is reporting but will try to. July 9, 20241 yr I have the exact same issue since past 2 weeks or so. Have been using development version for 2 years now and it worked fine, but now the managed descent mode won't work and i get crazy altitude differences vs my VNAV path. Also using Simbrief, will test tomorrow if overwriting the cruise altitude fix this for me as well. Edited July 9, 20241 yr by otip84

July 10, 20241 yr Author Most likely a very stupid thought. As only a few are affected could it be possible that it is nothing to do with the program that runs FBW 320. Could it be linked to the operating system? I use Windows 11-Pro, I expect most are using Windows 11- Home or Windows 10. As I say, most likely a stupid suggestion. But as the saying goes,' Any port in a storm'.
July 10, 20241 yr Hi, Ok, just did a flight without loading the flight plan via MSFS (I sometimes do that so I can get the route already loaded)...so entered entire flight plan manually on FMC and indeed all worked well. So there is probably some data issue on the pln file downloaded from Simbrief downloader or on how this gets translated into the FMC of the FBW A320. But indeed entering the full flight plan manually into the FMC fixed the problem 🙂

But you don't download a .pln file manually from SimBrief, right? You just push the REQUEST button on the INI page?
