For the past two weeks I find that when I try to read individual posts I am told to "go to topic listing" -- which does not allow me to read any posts. What am I doing wrong?

Just in case you missed the front page announcement regarding the new login rules, make sure you logout from your browser, clean the cookies, and login using your email instead of the user name - the email associated to your AVSIM account - and the usual password.

Problem solved, by switching browsers. It works on Microsoft Edge, but not on Firefox. I have no idea why -- never had an issue before, over several years.

Often the problem can be solved by clicking the Reload Current Page icon which is located on any browser toolbar.

If only it was that simple. Nothing I've tried gets it to work on Firefox. (I am currently on MS Edge).

I have had this problem on many forums from time to time. Whenever a problem exists on one browser but not on the another browser, then something is not set correctly on one of them. And reload is a partial reset and so it usually works for me. I'm sorry that it does not work now for you.

If seems odd that an incorrect setting in Firefox would affect only Avism, and nothing else as far as I can tell. Removing Avsim cookies has no effect. Any other ideas?

No, I'm all out of other ideas. I use Firefox exclusively. And do not have any problems with the Avsim forum.

One thing nice about Edge is the AI box over on the right for to ask questions. Microsoft AI answers are so much better than Google's. I don't find it as slanted, undocumented, or irrelevant as other systems are.

I just asked Edge AI chat box "How long are the runways at EGNV?

Answer:
Teesside International Airport (EGNV) has a single runway, designated 05/23, which is 7,516 feet (2,291 meters) long.

It also automatically added sources and links in case I wanted those.

If you are on a computer or phone, then clear all cache as well as cookies.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

I've done this, at some inconvenience since it affected all the websites I access from Firefox and required re-setting my log-ins for them. But the problem in Avsim remains. Everything was fine until the recent log-in changes that were implemented by Avsim.

Make sure that you clear history too , if that's not a problem for you ... Delete it "since ever", close the browser, start it fresh and login to AVSIM with your account e-mail.

Thanks. I have cleared "recent history", but not "all history" which would create considerable inconvenience in having to re-set log-in information for all the other websites I access on Firefox. If that's what it takes to get Avsim working on Firefox, I will pass -- just not worth the trouble.
