FBW a320 sim rate > 2x

Featured Replies

Hiya,

is there a way to enable sim rate >2x for the FBW a32N ? i know its possible in aircraft.cfg but that would mean doing it for every single livery which is .. not great. Perhaps the newest beta allows that?

In the FMS.. Under maintenance normal and . X2 are an option

I understand this setting is actually for Fenix. It's been a long time since I flew the FBW.

I'll check tonight, but I remember there was a file you had to edit to enable higher simrates in the FBW A320.

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

Got the file: it's ModelConfiguration.ini, and it's located in this path:

%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo\work

That's for Steam version. I don't know which path should be used for the MS Store version. Anyway, if there's no such file, create it and make sure it says the following:

[autopilot]
maximum_simulation_rate = 8
limit_simulation_rate_by_performance = false
simulation_rate_reduction_enabled = false

I set it at 8x. You may prefer any other simrate.

Thing is, there is no such config file.. should I create a new one with this?

Yes, you'll need to create it.

I have no problem using x4 in the FBW with the default sim rate command/hotkey. However you must ensure you actually have enough FPS at x4, because if it would drop below IIRC 20 FBW will prevent the sim rate change because the fly by wire would not function correctly anymore.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

That's what the last two lines in the ini file do: remove this safeguard.

I use framegen, so technically FS thinks i'm at 30fps while its actually 60fps. Will try with the ini file 🙂 thanks amigos

UPDATE - tried it, no luck at all 🤦‍♂️idk, the hwa339 can do 4x and fbw is stuck with 2x... heelp me 😐
