Wrecked a few planes along the way but I have started to do more of these and I have to say they are a lot of fun once you get confident with them. They really force you to use the charts as you always need to 100% know where you are. Bit more of a challenge than normal ILS and usually these non precision approaches involve a late turn or something else where you need to get configured/gear down whilst still late-maneuvering . [Hobart, AU is a good one, so is LGIR in Crete] Looking to do more of them. 

I do a lot of flying in the TBM, mostly to non controlled A/P's and use RNAV approaches most of the time. When you feel comfortable with them, try a VOR approach, first by using the approach via the FMS, then fly a VOR approach manually.  

The TBM is a good A/C for this as it handles well and is slow enough to not get too far ahead of you.

Agreed - it's fun to mix it up and not just do ILSs all the time. If you're looking for more challenging non-precision approaches, Norway has a ton - though most of them to relatively short runways (not suitable for jets, if that's what you're flying). Try Mo i Rana ENRA, Honningsvåg ENHV or Sandane ENSD. 

In the US these are very prevalent.  ATC will sometimes offer an RNAV approach instead of ILS.

Anyway if you just select vectors to final an rnav is basically the same as an ILS.

NZQN Queenstown is also a nice one! Especially Rwy23...Or EKVG Vagar - here Rwy 12...
