Photogrammetry in MSFS2024

Featured Replies

I'm firmly in the camp of loving photogrammetry, warts and all, while also looking very forward to improvements in fidelity in the future. I really enjoy flying a helicopter around a city right now even with the problems that come w/ photogrammetry (I mean, our imaginations always have to play a role in simulation of any kind, right?), but I also hope that 20-30 years from now I'm doing the same thing with even more street-level detail than I could have ever imagined. Progress is a series of small steps, usually, and I'll enjoy each step for what it brings.

Most of my flying is low and slow.  I'm in it for the scenery.  When I fly over my house I want it to look like my house.  When I fly from point A to point B I want to look for certain land marks to help me find my way.  Not a Walmart that is a four story building.  If I'm flying tubeliners at 30,000 feet I could care less.  Just depends on what is your cup of tea.
