  1. Goodyear blimp! I guess I'll be circling stadiums for 3 hours for my flights soon.
  2. Heck, I tried landing on a small strip in PNG last night with a purposely overloaded caravan. Spoiler: it did not go well at all, but I did have fun!
  3. Oh my, I barely have enough time for the planes I have, but what a great problem to have 😃 Can't wait to take her out for a spin!
  4. I start at my destination gate completely shut down. I can get 20 flights done in about 10 minutes this way!
  5. Always on. I like seeing the world as close to accurately as possible. The known issues are, as far as I'm concerned, just one of those things that will improve w/ time, like all technology, and in the meantime my imagination can suspend disbelief and fill in gaps, just as it could w/ technology 30+ years ago.
  6. Garmins get old to me. So many planes can integrate them that I feel like I'm doing the same thing every time. I love being able to go between planes like the Starship, BAE 146, and F28 to have a variety. I can enter a flight plan really dang quickly, even in VR, just using the kybd shortcut. Even entering waypoints for a STAR/APP as I'm in cruise is a quick process. I don't mind modern avionics, but the last thing I want to do is shoehorn them into my lovely, well-patinaed cockpit. I'd do it IRL for safety, but in sim it feels wrong. To each their own, of course, we all have fun our own ways. As for landing, I also don't have issues. Don't try to flare, for sure. The article mentions that it's a much more nose-down landing, which I found out the hard way while flying it.
  7. Thanks for this. I've been flying Starship a ton lately. Such a wonderful plane. I have yet to find a cockpit I enjoy more than this one, especially in VR.
  8. I've actually deleted 2024 since I got the alpha version of 2028. Really enjoying the new haptic feedback suit that comes with it.
  9. It's funny, I tried models as a kid but never got into them much. As a 40-year old now I appreciate more working w/ my hands and being patient with the process and small details. I'm looking at starting to work w/ model trains, as well. I guess it also helps that I have expendable income now 😉 Of course, I still won't give up simming! (or other computer games, for that matter)
  10. BAE 146 by a mile. I'm obsessed w/ this plane to the point where: 1. I haven't flown another airliner in over 2 years 2. I bought the book "Fighting To Be Heard: How the British Aerospace 146 Started the Regional Jet Revolution" 3. I bought a second copy of that book and just so I could have the cover framed and mounted because I love the artwork/photos 4. I started scale modeling so I can build and paint the Revell BAE 146 w/ the Air UK decals. My first model is a TBF-1 for practice and I've actually come to realize I'm going to love doing this as a hobby
  11. As someone with thousands of hours of experience driving a VW Sportwagen with climate control, I really think I need to point out how incredibly unrealistic the air conditioning is in the sim. I barely feel a difference in my office no matter how much I crank it up in the cockpit. SMH, when will these developers learn?
  12. Next sim release: November 18th, 2030. Mark your calendars.
  13. I found the missions to be a blast. I'm not a heli pilot and my set up isn't great for it so it was a little frustrating at times trying to control a hover, but the concepts within the missions structures were really fun. The 2nd mission in particular I thought was great w/ needing quick reaction time. Plus I love Stranger Things, so it was pretty awesome to explore Hawkins. They really did a great job w/ this.
  14. That's hilarious, whoever did it actually sounds like the actor playing Murray. These promos are a ton of fun.
  15. This one made me laugh. We need a mod to show angry French farmers shaking pitchforks at us as we fly by.
  16. Same! This is a fun surprise.
  17. When I joined up w/ MSFS 2020 I figured I'd fly a few default planes around for fun. Now I spend $2-300/year on add-ons and read manuals. I agree 100% w/ adding stuff like this to attract people. You never know which customers will be the next generation of customer base. And honestly, sometimes I have 20 minutes to fly or I lack the mental bandwidth to fly "properly" so I enjoy Isla Nublar and Hawkins, IN for a bit. The variety can be nice!
  18. People here are weird. It's a benign marketing tool. It would be like being disappointed that they ran a TV ad or something.
  19. This was a comment from MSFS on the YT video, so yes, the ribbon can be turned off: "Glad you enjoyed it! And if you want those race ribbons to turn off, it is the same keybinding you use to turn off visual nav aids - Toggle Visual Assistances Display!"
  20. My goodness, the rule set explanations are incredibly precise. I had no idea bank angles were also taken into account w/ certain gates. The pilots who do this IRL must be incredible.
  21. I just got back into using BATC and I agree with you completely. IFR flights really go off the rails every time when I get to descent and approach (and not only for GA, in my experience). I'm not particularly upset by it as I know they're developing still, but it makes me wonder if they'll be able to pull off the level of accuracy they're likely hoping for.
  22. I appreciate the love for the Albatross. That's a fun plane.
  23. 1. JF BAE 146 2. Blacksquare Starship 3. A2A Comanche
  24. Very welcome news! The 146 is my favorite airliner by a long shot.
