October 21, 20241 yr Hi guys, couldn't think of a better way to describe this... when wearing the CL and looking (with eyes only) sharp left or right, there is a kind of rippling effect right at the edge of the view..turning my head alleviates it.. just wondering if this is something to do with FFR or should there be edge to edge clarity all the time? I am hoping i don't have dodgy lenses! October 21, 20241 yr I have seen this a few times but lately all seems ok. Restarting helped, not sure about the cause. Maybe an update solved it? Paul
October 21, 20241 yr Author Thanks Paul, ill try the restart and see what occurs... appreciate that! i9 13900KF @ 5.5Ghz | MoBo MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi | Corsair Vengeance Black RGB RS 64gb DDR4 3200MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC 32GB | MP33 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD for OS | Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" 4TB SSD SATA2 | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB | Corsair RM1000X 2021 1300W 80 Plus Gold PSU | Antec Dark Fleet DF700 Flux Gaming Case | Win 11 home | Samsung 65" 4K TV | G512 Keyboard | Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse | WinCtrl URSA MINOR 32 Throttle Metal / 32 PAC Metal | WinCtrl Ursa Minor Sidestick |Velocity One Rudder | MiniCockpit FCU and EFIS | WinCtrl MCDU | Stream Deck XL | Tobii Eye Tracker | Pimax Crystal Light | Doug
October 22, 20241 yr Author Well, dont i feel idiotic! Turns out the 'watery edges' was in fact the blasted FFR being on! All is well in the world now... 🫣 I tried turning off FFR based on what you said here and found my display/VC perspective jumping out the cockpit issue returned. I turned it back 'on' with a setting of, 'Balanced' and all was well again. I'm not seeing the 'watery edges' being reported with FFR on so that's strange within itself. I guess our different setups really affect little things when it comes to the CL (thank you MS for discontinuing WMR😣). WMR gave somewhat a standard in Windows where as PimaxXR and others are still a work in progress (in Windows let alone in MSFS). This makes it hard to have a general consensus on what works when troubleshooting...🫤 Edited October 22, 20241 yr by Dillon FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

All is well in the world now... 🫣 Well I guess you learn something new every day. After turning off FFR and finding the issues I mentioned above I noticed that the sim looked better and clearer. So I went in and tried turning off 'Use NANOVG for XML Gauges' in Experimental with FFR 'off'. Low and behold the sim ran as stable as it did before but looked clearer/better.😶 Having FFR 'off' has the sim looking that much closer to monitor quality (actually very close with 4K being the exception). Since the Experimental setting defaults 'on' when I launch the sim I opted to turn it off as soon as the sim loads up. Each time the performance issues I had are gone and the visuals are sharp and clear. Thanks 'Vonduck' for unintended tip.😎 FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

The very reason i like this thread is the tips and tricks that have proved to be so helpful! Your tip about the back of the headset being at the base of the skull has made a huge difference to the comfort! Very grateful for that mate! My FFR situation also could have been a mixture too of different AA settings...using SSAO, FXAA, in house sharpening etc... i only use OXRTK for world scale sizing but will get rid of that when MSFS2024 arrives... so many varients..but glad that the issue is resolved... 🙃 i9 13900KF @ 5.5Ghz | MoBo MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi | Corsair Vengeance Black RGB RS 64gb DDR4 3200MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC 32GB | MP33 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD for OS | Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" 4TB SSD SATA2 | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB | Corsair RM1000X 2021 1300W 80 Plus Gold PSU | Antec Dark Fleet DF700 Flux Gaming Case | Win 11 home | Samsung 65" 4K TV | G512 Keyboard | Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse | WinCtrl URSA MINOR 32 Throttle Metal / 32 PAC Metal | WinCtrl Ursa Minor Sidestick |Velocity One Rudder | MiniCockpit FCU and EFIS | WinCtrl MCDU | Stream Deck XL | Tobii Eye Tracker | Pimax Crystal Light | Doug

The family are here and the guest bedroom flight deck is unreasonably occupied by interlopers. When I can repossess it, I'll try with FFR off and see how it performs. My battle at the moment is with micro-stutter blur when the aircraft is turning tightly or turning in taxi but I haven't really experimented further since getting the optics to the great level they are now at. I will now be able to do a straight comparison of impact on visuals and on judder of the two (or more)scenarios. Should have some results to share by the end of the weekend 🙂 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
