October 24, 20241 yr I hope this is OK in the MSFS forum... if not, then admin please move accordingly. I use a headset/mic 99% of the time and get on very well with the setup, however, I would like to be able to offer a similar headset to any friend who may want to join me on a flight. I have done a few searches online to see how I can enable comms between the two headsets, but so far I have been unable to find a successful way of doing it. It appears that it can be done, but is bit of a faff and I'd need some specialist kit or software (?) Is there anyone who can offer a simple and starightforward way of setting this up? Help appreciated. October 24, 20241 yr I have no experience with this but this might work (assuming you're using actual aviation headsets): https://flightsounds.com/collections/dual-aviation-headset-usb-adapter

Also, the price is steep for me, as it's only an occasional requirement. Thanks for the suggestion, appreciated. October 24, 20241 yr Hi. I’ve done something similar. I wanted the comms to come through headset and speakers. I don’t have a dual mic setup. The easiest way I found was to just buy a headphone splitter cable. They’re £7 on amazon. I can’t find a mic splitter I’m afraid.
October 24, 20241 yr I don't know that there's an inexpensive and easy solution. You could use virtual audio mixer software like Voicemeeter/VB-Cable. The audio drivers for higher-end Realtek devices integrated into many motherboards also often include a virtual "stereo mix" device that allows audio from the sound card's mic-in jack to be mixed with the regular audio from the PC. You can also set the "listen" switch on separate headset devices to create something like a hot mic intercom. The problem with any of these virtual mixer solutions is that the mic audio feeds back to the headsets with a noticeable delay, which means you hear you own voice feedback to the headset sort of like an echo--many (most?) people find that unacceptably annoying. There are relatively inexpensive (under $100) audio mixers with a USB interface to the PC that might be made to work with some audio headsets (e.g. something like the ART USBMIX) but the feasibility would depend on the headsets to be used (impedances, connectors, etc). That's helpful. Thanks Bob. I'll check out your recommendation for the ART USBMIX.
