November 9, 20241 yr Hello folks, I tried the utility to convert my V2 data and now I get the error 'DataMgr.Init Error' and the loading bar just goes on and on. If I click on anything it just crashes. Everything seemed OK before I tried this. Can't see how to attached a photo. Any suggestions? Many thanks..
November 10, 20241 yr Commercial Member Most likely the Data Conversion had a problem. In order to do it again, follow these steps: ⦁ Start over by installing a fresh copy of the Full Installation. ⦁ In the Navigraph FMS Data Manager, AddonMappings, create a new PIlot2ATC mapping for V3. Point that mapping to the Pilot2ATC V3 Installation folder. ⦁ Run the Navigraph updater for the new Pilot2ATC V3 addon you just created. After it finishes check in the P2A v3 Data subfolder to be sure the P2ADynamicData.mdf file is located there. ⦁ Open P2A v3 and the the Data Mnt Tool located on the Utilities tab of Settings ⦁ Go to the Data Conversion Tab and press the "Set File Paths to Default" button ⦁ Press the Start button ⦁ Wait, wait, the green bar will start showing progress, but wait for a White Lettered Message to show up under the green bar saying the Conversion Succeeded ⦁ Then restart P2A to load the new data Dave

Will try that when I get back to my PC. Really appreciated .
November 11, 20241 yr Hey Dave, I also got the DataMgr.Init error the first time I ran the Data Conversion utility. After reading your instructions above, I thought maybe my problem was that I did not create a new mapping for V3 and update it in the Navigraph FMS Data Manager BEFORE I ran the Data Conversion utility for the first time. Before I installed V3 I watched all of the tutorial videos, and since the one related to using the Data Conversion utility didn't clearly tell you to update Navigraph first I didn't do that. I tried to solve it by following your above instructions, but I still get the DataMgr.Init error when I run the Data Conversion utility. And now I also get the error every time the program starts and if I just hit OK on the error message and then try to run the Data Conversion utility when I click on the "Data Mnt" button P2ATC crashes and the entire program closes. I then did a complete uninstall (including deleting the C:\Pilot2ATC_3_x64 and C:\Users\Gary\AppData\Roaming\P2A_300\Settings folders) and after that I didn't get the error when the program started. But after I set the default source/target paths again and hit the button to start the conversion I got the error again. For the life of me I cant figure out what I am doing or not doing to keep getting this DataMgr.Init error. I have several log files and a screenshot of the error, but I don't know how to attach them to this message. Any help appreciated. Thanks. November 12, 20241 yr Commercial Member Once you get that Data Init error, it means the program cannot find a valid P2ADynamicData.db file. Most likely, your running of the Data Conversion without a V2 mdf file as the Source created an empty .db file. I'm working on a way to automate this process, but for now, download and install the full version of the program to get the .db file back, which will then let you open the program and do a valid Data Conversion and get going again. Dave
November 12, 20241 yr Dave, thanks. I'm still not sure I understand. You are saying that I need to run the Data Conversion with a valid V2 P2ADynamicData.db file. So when I set the default source/target paths before running the utility, do I set the paths to my V2 P2ADynamicData.db and P2ADynamicData.mdf files, or do I set the paths to the V3 P2ADynamicData.db and P2ADynamicData.mdf files? I have always been setting them to the V3 paths since that's what it defaults to when I press the "Set File Paths to Default". Appreciate the help. If you are going to put out a version soon that automates this process I may just wait for it. November 13, 20241 yr Commercial Member V2 uses only the .mdf file type. There is no .db file for V2. Likewise, V3 uses only the .db file type. So the Source file must be set to the V2 .mdf file and the Target must be set to the V3 .db file. Setting the File Paths to Default assumes you have both the V2 and V3 files in the V3 Data directory prior to starting the conversion. Dave
November 13, 20241 yr Got it. Now I understand. Thanks for clearing this up Dave. Gary M. | PPL ASEL | System Specs: W11 Pro, Corsair 4000X Mid Tower, Z790 Aorus Master Motherboard, i9-13900KF, 64 GB DDR5 SRAM, RTX 4090, Dell AW3821DW Monitor, Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, MFG Crosswind Pedals, TrackIR
November 13, 20241 yr I ran the conversion again after correctly setting the paths to the V2 and V3 mdf and db files. And it worked!! No DataMgr.Init error message!!!! Thanks again Dave. That worked perfectly. No error now. 🙂 Can I ask a dumb question. How often does the conversion tool need to be used? Thanks, Stuart

December 30, 20241 yr Hello. I'm always getting this error Image with error. Already did your instructions, uninstalling and installing both sql server and pilot2atc, but doing manually as your instructions above or auto updating from navigraph, always ends with that error. I'm on Windows 11. Regards, João Galaio

Did a copy of data folder to this pc with windows 11. Pilot2atc is not compatible with windows 11? Regards, João.
December 30, 20241 yr Commercial Member Many users are on WIndows 11. It looks like the V3 database is missing. Download and install the full version of V3 that includes the 1801 data, from the V3 Downloads page. Then try running the Navigraph Auto Updater. It should work. I tried manual and auto update. For now I have the problem resolved because i did a copy from data folder installation in windows 10
