My last flight in MSFS2020...in my namesake airplane...

Featured Replies

Yes, I am already a bit tired of the sight of the two MSFS icons on the TV-desktop of my Xbox. So, one will have to go on Nov. 19th...🙂...simply because I am weary of the Xbox (resource) limitations with both versions installed, plus, of course, there also exist, several other (Xbox) "games" (racing and warrior types, which are not my cup of tea) installed in the same Xbox by a certain teenage member of the family...🙂... (and mind you, mine are by no means to be called "games", though I've not had much success convincing the said teenager of such an argument...🙂...) ...Oh well...

Now, regarding "my namesake" airplane, I mean the Boeing "787", specifically the "787-8", from which my username here is derived, inspired by the sighting of an ANA 787-8 emerging out of the Boeing Factory doors, during one of my two visits to Everett, Washington. The (Asobo) "787", I am flying here, however, is not the "787-8", but the "787-10", so, pardon me, it's not exactly my "namesake"...but it's close enough...🙂...

For this post, I fly this 787-10 from Juneau International Airport (PAJN) to Ketchikan International Airport (PAKT), a (short) distance of about 230 miles. Please note that, because of Ketchikan's geography, this remote Alaska town can be reached only by air or boat i.e., it is not accessible by roadway system, so, do not try to drive to it...🙂... Instead, come along with me on this trip, in the comfort of my 787-10, to this popular destination of Alaska as I travel along the coastline, over and across Alaska's (beautiful) Inside Passage, skirting the majestic and rugged Coastal Range of Mountains (see images below).

As the dusk light envelopes the mountains near Ketchikan, with the sun already gone down into the horizon, and a pale moon rising above these mountains, I've reached Ketchikan and landed on ILS Rwy 11 of PAKT. The (nice and large) Heads-Up Display of the 787 has reliably and precisely guided me down the Glidepath to the threshold of the runway.

The Alaska livery, of my post here, is called "X̱áat Kwáani" which means “Salmon People”, and is designed by Alaska Native artist, Crystal Worl, whose work explores the relationships and bonds connecting her people, the land and the native animals of Alaska...

Hope you enjoy this collection of pictures of my namesake airplane in this special livery...in my last flight of MSFS2020...!

Thanks for viewing...and see you again in the virtual skies of MSFS2024...on or after Nov. 19th...🙂...! Cheers...!

Wow, what a nice livery, P_7878. Reminds me of the Aborigines' liveries on Qantas planes a few years back.

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds
