How to walk?

Featured Replies

I can only move forward and backward. There are keys assigned to the usual WASD and also Shift-WASD but only W and S work. It's a word not allowed trying to walk around like this. Are there any other bindings I should look at?

Mouse controls where the camera is pointed, W moves forward, S back, A left, D right. Not like you need to spend a lot of time in that mode, its really about doing the inspection.

Thanks! A and D do nothing on my PC even though they ARE assigned. Must be something wrong somewhere. Well... there is something wrong EVERYWHERE in MSFS2024 so it's no surprise. 😉

EDIT
Yes, using the mouse works like a charm! Don't really need A and D so it seems.

EDIT 2

Running would be helpful but that also won't work...

EDIT 3

To move left and right you need to select Strafe!!! Best thing to do is go to the Controls > Player Character menu: makes it easier to change the correct Move options (there are more then you'd expect).

Glad you figured it out. Another issue I had this morning, I got into the sim, and then could move around but did not see my cursor. I was confused for a couple minutes, then happen to right click the mouse.... TADA had cursor.

Once you get this straight,  the next BIG issue is the control configuration, been struggling/working on that. But with a basic sane control setup I'm finally actually in the training section and making progress. Finally!! 😂

Lol! The possibility of walking around is meant to inspect the aircraft before flying, aka doing the "walkaround". Now you suggest that pilots must do this running? Doing the "runaround"? 😀

But i think i get your drift, it's nice to explore the surroundings by walking, it's nicer to do this running to skip the more boring parts of nature.
