December 1, 20241 yr and, just like in FS 2020, actually give you clearance for your declared route? I have used both the EFB with an imported route that I had created in Simbrief, or creating the route from scratch in the EFB itself, I've declared the departure and destination airports the in Free Flight World Menu, although contrarily to FS 2020 I couldn't find a way to create my route through there, choosing a SID, creating waypoints along the route and then a STAR and an APP... When I try a flight in the Inibuilds A321 LR, when I contact Clearance the only options are departure direction / type options - nothing related to my flightplan, and yes in the EFB I did send the flightplan to ATC? Any hints really appreciated ! December 1, 20241 yr Are you sure you created an IFR plan? Could the EFB planner defaults to VFR. And indeed, you can't create a plan anymore on the Free Flight World map. There is no need to set both DEP and ARR on it: I only use that menu to position myself (so I usually enter a DEP) but that's it. Everything else is taken care off using the EFB while still on the menu or when already in the cockpit. I like how you can use the EFB on the menu and in the cockpit and that things aren't seperated anymore as they were in 2020. Two points of advice: 1. Download the SimBrief plugin for the EFB (not the toolbar version): it's extremely convenient! I haven't visited the SB site anymore since downloading it. I can do EVERYTHING from within the sim, even while I am sitting in the cockpit. You can also send your SB plan to the systems with one click. (It's still a bit buggy as that it won't always transfer the plan correctly but with SB in the EFB you can easily enter the plan into the systems manually anyway.) 2. Get BATC (or perhaps FSHud) and forget about default ATC. It will open up a new world for you and it will make flying and interacting with ATC fun and great instead of annoying and frustrating.
December 1, 20241 yr Author @mistolip, thank you for the prompt answer. I did install Simbrief Downloader, and set the flightplan dir to: %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState but I can't see them when I hit the LOAD FLIGHPLAN button... Will check again. I do own both FSHUD ( started using it with P3D, then in FS 2020 ) as well as BATC, although I haven't yet decided if I will purchase the FS 2024 FSHUD upgrade or use BATC only from now on, and so, I haven't yet installed either and am willling to test all of the default features that come with FS 2024. (You can install it using Navigraph HUB or download it from the SB site.) Simply open SB in the EFB and click on Send to systems (or something like that). Done. No need to download a PLN file and load it into the sim and all that. I always find that immersion killing. And if you want to you can even skip visiting the SB site to create a plan: you can do it all in the EFB while sitting in the cockpit (or while still on the world menu)! Concerning default ATC: I tested it because just like you I wanted to see how it was in 2024. Believe me... you are WAY better off installing BATC right now! 😉 As I said the SB app is still a bit buggy when it comes to loading plans into the sim: the planning part is 100% perfect. I think some problems may only be solved once Navigraph has fixed there Navdata for 2024. EDIT If you prefer to use the SB site for planning: the SB EFB app is linked to all other possible SB sites and apps so you can still use the SB EFB to load the plan into the sim. The SB EFB app will instantly 'see' the plan you created online. It's just way more fun to do it all in the EFB! Edited December 1, 20241 yr by mistolip
December 1, 20241 yr Author Do I need a subscription for the App? In that case you can't download the app using the Navigraph HUB but you can still download it from the SB site (same spot where you got the downloader from). Of course the free SB AIRAC may become too old and problems might occur. However, at this moment the Navigraph AIRAC isn't even compatible with MSFS2024 so you're not missing out on anything.

December 1, 20241 yr Author Regarding the OP, it also described, together with the other quirks I've been experiencing since yesterday when I decided to start testing default ATC, EFB and the A321 LR... What the OP of that thread describes are exactly the same quirks I came across: Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
