December 2, 20241 yr Today after taking the Max on a short maintenance hop from EGGD to EGFF it was time for some sight seeing. my Diamond da40tdi had already been towed out from its hanger and fuelled up ready for me. So off I went setting across the Bristol Channel flying over an RNLI lifeboat that had been called out and waving hello to some lovely folks in Cardiff. Shortly afterwards I was soon approaching Clevedon pier, then turning south taking in the vast sandy beaches of Weston-super-mare before climbing above the clouds. I cleared them at 8000ft and was greeted with 2024’s amazing new lighting engine - wow just wow, fair play Asobo and all kudos to your team, you guys have come up trumps! I crossed the quantock hills in North Somerset (they looked spectacular) before I descended for my mid flight delivery, after a short stop at a nearby farm strip (the landing was gnarly) to drop off the milk it was time to head North for Bristol, the sun was setting but I could clearly make out the reservoir in Cheddar before following the gorge up and over the mendip hills. Cheddar gorge looks better in 2024 with the new tessellation being put to good use - even though the road is broken, but I will forgive them for that. so I landed back in Briz as the sun was going down, I landed on rw27 which runs up a slope, behind that I could see a tree line with the suns rays glinting between the branches as it set behind - it looked very impressive. This was a brilliant experience, textures streamed in fast, my frame rate was better than 2020, I was holding 60fps at Bristol (pilot plus eggd) in the Max, and was hitting 90 in the diamond above those clouds - frame times were consistent, I had no pauses. Yes I had some blurry cockpit textures again, but they reloaded quickly. w/o well done Asobo/MS - you are onto something. All I ask is two things (easy), fix those bugs and make the servers reliable. oh and next years upgrade is now ON! New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. December 2, 20241 yr Beautiful broken. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
