December 4, 20241 yr Hi, I was looking for fixes for the problems with the HUD's for both aircraft being cut off at the edges, like the HUD's were made just a little to wide to fit. I can't see my speed, and other important information making the HUD's mostly useless and it really takes away from the fun of flying fighter jets for me. I did searches and came up pretty empty. I did find a forum post where someone had announced that they had made mods exactly to fix this issue for both aircraft but I was unable to find a working link to them. Please tell me that there is a fix out there somewhere for this problem? Thanks Specs: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon board, Ryzen 5800X CPU, 3600Mhz Corsair RAM, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT GPU Favorite Sims: FSX:SE, P3Dv5.4, X-Plane 11 & 12
December 4, 20241 yr Is it that the HUD is too large, or that you're too far away from it ? I have used these two planes extensively (granted, it was in P3Dv4...) but never had any issue with the size of the HUD.

What I see is both the right side and left side of the HUD screens are cut off by the left and right "part" (I don't know what to call it) that holds the HUD screen in place. You know how on the left, right and bottom of the HUD screen, I mean were the HUD ends and the "part" that it mounts to cuts off the edges of the HUD so I can't see the information on both the left and right sides of the HUD. I will take and upload some screenshots when I have a chance, it's easier to see than it is to explain. I have this issue with both aircraft and I have not changed the head position of the pilot from where it is by default on these planes so I don't think I'm too far away from it. December 4, 20241 yr If the HUD is a gauge you can typically adjust the size of the display in the panel.cfg. Might be an option to review... Cheers Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too. Yes I understood what you said. My question was: are you sure your point of view (your head position in the virtual cockpit) is correct ? If you're seating too far away from the HUD, then it's normal that it's cut on the sides, and also on the top and bottom. You just have to adjust your head position to get closer to it. The default head position in 2D might not be the perfect one. Edited December 4, 20241 yr by Daube

Ahh, I see now, you are correct, I was just messing around with these planes again and I notice II have to be very close to the instrument panel for it to fully come into view. In fact, a little to close imo. I usually judge where the pilots head is in correct position by looking down and back at the seat to tell if the pilot is centered, and also if the pilot is back far enough in the seat to be realistic. Many aircraft I notice have the pilot sitting way to far forward and sometimes off to the left or right from the pilots/captain's seat. In the Goshhawk for example, it feels like I would have to be leaning forward (in real life) to be that close to the instrument panel and HUD for the HUD to come fully into view. Or maybe the pilot is very tiny and has really short legs 😉 Overall though, I am impressed with the visual quality of these aircraft, everything is in 3D and they're very nicely detailed models for freeware aircraft.
