MSFS2020 poor connectivity

Featured Replies

Out of the blue, despite a robust 250 Mbs internet speed that I checked just now, I am getting ultra low graphics that I have never had before in MSFS2020 (most settings at ultra with 4090 GPU} and intermittent connectivity lost error messages.  Is there any credible evidence that the streaming issues plaguing  many MSFS2024 users are also impacting MSFS2020?

Most likely a MSFS  server issue

I tested the speed while having these issues and it was 250 mbs as expected.  I thought it may have been due to the enhanced Bing maps and Atmos addons that I recently installed but disabling these didn't  help.  Anyway seems to be back to normal now with those two addons enabled.  So as I have made no other changes it looks like a server issue.  My ISP bless them have just advised me that my internet plan is to be upgraded to 800 mbs and at reduced cost.  Maybe the competition is getting to them.  But with these ongoing server issues I'm not sure how much benefit I will get from the change.
