(FS2024) iniBuilds airliners...3 for 3 in 3 days...A400M...

Featured Replies

[Note: A member has already posted, here, a set of images of the A400M from MSFS 2024. That post triggered me to fly this unique Airbus airliner today on the Xbox. So, here we go...]

After I had installed, into my Xbox system, MSFS 2024, on the day after its release (which would be Nov. 20), I immediately wished to fly the 3 iniBuilds (Airbus) airliners that were of interest to me. These are the 3 newly introduced default a/c of the MSFS 2024 SIM - (A321, A330, and A400M). I must admit, during the period, between Nov. 20, and Dec. 10 (when the first MSFS 2024 Update 1.2.7.0 was released), I must have attempted to fly these 3 aircraft at least 5 to 10 times each...🙂...absolutely to no avail, of course, as I've already pointed out in my previous posts. I could not understand why all my peripheral controls (interfaced via Xbox Gamepad, Keyboard/Mouse, and Thrustmaster Hotas) would completely freeze and become un-responsive just for these iniBuilds aircraft, while things would work fine for other MSFS2024 aircraft. It was a mystery to me.

Then came the Update (1.2.7.0) on Tuesday of this week. From Tuesday to today, I have now flown all these 3 iniBuilds airliners, B2B2, over 3 successive days...all successfully...So, I am now becoming a believer of the fact that the iniBuilds aircraft (especially their airliners, which I've always considered to be of reasonable complexity (and quality), good enough for the average (virtual) aviators, like I am...🙂...) can indeed fly even on my modest Xbox/MSFS2024 system. I find this very heartening, especially after I'd earlier nearly given up the hope of being able to fly these (iniBuilds) aircraft on the Xbox.

After my test flights with A321 and A330 (if you wish, please see my previous 2 posts), here is the Airbus A400M, that I flew today on a short route from EDDF (Frankfurt Main) to EHAM (Amsterdam Schiphol). The A400M (being a 4-engined Turboprop a/c, see images below) is bit of a different flavor of Airbus. Though, visually, it might present a similar general appearance as the C-130 Hercules, that most of us know well in the SIM (thanks to the CS version available since a very long time), the A400M is a different beast, noticeably larger and with a higher payload capacity.

I have not yet fully studied all the features of this SIM a/c, but, for this post and this test flight, I've done a basic (A to B) flight as follows:

  1. Manual tracking of the route from EDDF to EHAM (with HDG Control enabled).
  2. Manual altitude control (with VS enabled).
  3. Manual speed control (with SPEED enabled).
  4. Finally, for ILS landing, manually setting the IDENT (= ABA) for EHAM's ILS Runway 36R, on the (NAV/RAD) page of the MFD. Just setting the IDENT to "ABA" on the MFD, nicely brought up the ILS frequency (111.95) and the Localizer/Glideslope signals on both the HUD and the PFD displays (see images). (Normal auto-tuning of frequency for ILS approach is also possible, but I've not used it here.)

The airplane followed the (ILS) glidepath very effectively all the way down to the threshold of ILS Rwy 36R/EHAM.

It was a fun exercise flight overall, as I got myself familiar with this novel (Airbus) airliner. Next, I need to dig deeper into the avionics suite and (automatic) navigational features of this (SIM) aircraft. I greatly enjoyed exposure to this one-of-a-kind large (military) airliner, equipped with Airbus-like (avionics) suite...on a quad turboprop...

Hope you too enjoy this collection of pictures, below, of the A400M from my flight today. I'm not sure about scenery and airports renditions in MSFS2024, but I'm bit of a happy camper today...🙂...being able to finally fly these three (much anticipated) MSFS2024 (iniBuilds) a/c without any issues on my Xbox...

Thanks for viewing...!

Fine set, seems a nice experience to fly this bird, although i see some bad blurryness for example in the shots 16 and 17..

Is this the streaming issue to the MSFS2024 ore is it a XBox problem ?

But anyway, looks you had a fine flight !

cheers 😉

Thanks a lot, pmplayer, for the comment. It's a nice and novel airplane for our SIM, and it was a good flight indeed, but lots to learn still on this one...

Yes, all scenery (and aircraft) in MSFS2024 being now streamed in, is causing some distress to me especially on the Xbox ...even when I selectively "enable" airports and such...But I've seen well-resolved pictures from others in MSFS24...

Also, I see some scenery, airports, and aircraft etc. have been disabled for now and marked "Not Available"...in the library, so it could be localized and regional scenery anomaly too...

Hope to see better things once the Marketplace fully opens for business...

Cheers...!

Very nice set of shots!

Cheers, Calum

Hopefully they can change this streaming style for better performance to users and usage in the near future, for me if this stays like this in the new Simulator i am not interesting in use of that Sim !

Also i would have more my own decision about my aircraft and my scenery i bought and use !!

cheers 😉

Great set of shots! 😉

Very nice set P_7878! I must look at that Ils activation next, it was not 100 % during my last flight.

It's obvious that 2024 is much more build on streaming than 2020, it loads and loads all the time. And so it's not easy to say if some blurry

textures come from the system or the settings or the streaming. Recently I did a flight from EDDM to LOWS and haven't been in LOWS

before in 2024. It all turned into heavy blurries when I came to Salzburg and than it loaded about 10 minutes or so where I stopped the flight.

Even in the loading screen for the aircraft, to show the previews, it loads and loads. I also get the message "bandwith too low" which I never have in 2020.

My connection can do 50mbit/sec and I think it's not enough. Should be at least 100mbit/sec. Telekom wants to sell me that all the time.

As I said before, I have the entire EU and US scenery stored on disk for Xplane, I can fly in Xplane even offline, makes no difference.

But of course I'm always interested in following the new developments....🙂

I understand, but they have to change that because this Sim is like this unplayable at all..

As i reed right here around in the Threads people with very good streaming bandwith have the same problem and that should not be, so it is a Asobo/MS problem and they should go over to a usage we have in MSFS2020 what much better works and i assume they let the community save there scenerys and aircrafts to lower the bandwith all around would be a better thing !

And as i said before, if this stays like this i never will use this NEW Simulator..

cheers 😉

I don't think they will change it, it's new technology and a major reason why they created the new platform.

If you look at the diskspace which is needed, it's a lot less than in 2020. So that's the new thing, it all sits in the cloud.

And if the new system doesn't really work yet they will improve it over next months.
