Vista is a bit tough on deframenters because it locks the partition in several areas. I dont use system restore because of the drag on the system and instead keep my own backups.

I user perfectdisk. I think it gets some very high ratings and I never notice it at all because it runs on a schedule once a week during the middle of the night.http://www.raxco.com
