Is there a setting to delay installing new version?

Featured Replies

Nico,

As always thanks for the amazing things you do with this program!

Is there a setting to delay installing new version so that it does not stop working during a current flying session?  Mine basically stops working until I install the new version which of course kills the realism.

Thanks,

Dave

Did you notice that? I don't think that can happen. PSXT checks for updates at the start only, not at automatic restarts... So only if you exit PSXT and start it again during a flight session it will check.

I'm not intending to add the possibility to delay. I'd like all users with me with the same version. That makes my life of giving support (answering questions about problems) a lot easier.

And btw, installing a new version does not take long, does'n it?

Mine does unfortunately.  I will be flying and notice that the traffic has stopped.  I switch over to PSXT and it has a red banner at the bottom telling me to install the new version. When it does this no traffic is being inserted.  So I have to close the program, reinstall and start again.  Doesn't take too long but is an immersion killer.  Maybe it is just me that this is happening to.

Thanks,

David

Very strange. But you are now on 10.3.0 is not it?

Don't think it will happen again.

I am on 10.3.0 now.  I'll see if it continues to happen.

is it a way to pause PSXT as some users like me exit the app on take off and landing phase to have better fps then start it again . But it works good you can close and open many times I never had bugs.

I was thinkin about a pause button which clear all traffic around you specially with A380X which is perf killer..

That should really not  be necessary. Especially in these phases of the flight real live aircraft add to the immersion. If you experience too low fps's you better switch your MSFS sliders a bit back. Do not use ultra.

And furthermore don't watch at fps counters all the time.  If you can fly smooth, its okay. That could already be at 25 fps. So forget these fps counters.

I often leave my sim running for many hours and psxt has never lost connection if there is an update.
