Fenix A32x perfomrance vs PMDG 737

Featured Replies

I am thinking of purchasing Fenix A32x, but have rather medium PC specs. PMDG 737 is running satisfactory on my PC, and I wonder if Fenix is currently on same level compared to PMDG 737 regarding performance?

I understood that initially it was more demanding than PMDG, but I hope last versions have been optimized.

My PC has AMD 5800x3D CPU and AMD RX 6800 XT GPU, as well as 32 GB RAM.

Thanks.

The Fenix runs fine on my relatively moderate system as do the PMDG 737 and 777, but I tend to use default airports, with settings recommended by the nVidia app, or close to it. I don't use AI traffic, only VATSIM ATC. I get 40+ fps (no FG or lossless scaling) both on fs2020 and fs2024. Over the years, Fenix has significantly improved its performance in fs2020, so I think you can look forward to similar outcomes as the PMDG models.

Ok it’s been a while since I ran both as I’m on 2024 now, but at least in October, the PMDG planes were around 10-15 FPS faster than the Fenix. This can vary, sometimes the Fenix is at par. But in general the PMDG planes are smoother.

In the beginning Fenix wasn't as good as PMDG 737 as far as performance. After some Fenix  updates, I get better performance with the Fenix than the 737, not by much, but slightly better.

I get better performance with the PMDG. Noticeably smoother.
