February 6, 20251 yr I currently have 6yo [email protected] with 4070Ti (purchased separately in 2023) and ready to move on with brand new build from the scratch, however my concern is lack of Nvidia cards on the market. Hence, I have 2 options 1) Proceed with building new machine immediately with existing 1.5yo 4700Ti, then replace the latter with newest models. 2) Wait until summer 2025 for more 5XXX inventory and then build new rig. What would you suggest? 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
February 6, 20251 yr Commercial Member A 4070Ti is fine. My 3080 is even older and works fine with my 7800X3D. You'll definitely notice the performance from a newer CPU. Cheers Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

Cheers Yeah, that's what I think too. Prospects of seeing 5-series in the near future are pretty slim. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
February 7, 20251 yr Go with option 1, I think your RTX 4070 Ti will work nicely with a modern CPU. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
