Real-life experience with 7800X3D/4070 TI Super

Featured Replies

Hello beloved community,

Im looking for real life experience "in the field" with:

  • 7800X3D
  • 4070 Ti Super
  • 1440p 27 inch plus 1 monitor 1080p
  • Complex aircraft such as Fenix, FSLabs or PMDG
  • GSX

How stutter-free is the experience in reality? These benchmark tests on YouTube dont tell me too much, but maybe Im too stupid to understand.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Marc

My CPU is a 12700K which in games, is less powerful than the 7800x3d - but maybe comparable otherwise.  I also run a 1440p and 1080p monitor but I've got a 4080... which I think is similar to a 4070 ti

With frame generation I can usually get about 50-80 fps in cities with addons.  Ultra settings TLOD 300.  In rural areas I'll easily maintain triple frame gen digits with addons/weather/traffic etc.

The numbers are about the same in 2020 and 2024... though in 2024 the vram isn't really optimized by asobo (in my opinion) so I'll frequently exceed vram with addons in 2024.

Oh if you're planning on 2024 I'd consider 64GB ram since ram is still pretty cheap.

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

FWIW with a different CPU (7900x), but 4070Ti Super, 32GB RAM, running a 1440p and 1080p monitor, with sliders in FS2020 pretty much set to ultra, I am having a smooth performance with the Fenix.  I haven't tried FS2024, yet.

I do not currently use GSX.

Hope that helps.

Ryzen 9 7900X, AsRock Taichi B650e, MSI RTX 4070 Ti Super, 32GB G Skill Flare, 850W PSU, 4TB WD 850 SSD, Win 11 Pro, 27" 1440p MSI monitor

What about at add on airports. I barely get 24 FPS on my Ryzen 7 5800 Prime 370-A motherboard. 64 Ram DDR4 4070ti Asus graphic card

Also thinking of changing my motherboard and CPU with DDR5 Ram

Not sure it would make that much of a difference. or scared it would not.
