February 14, 20251 yr I think realturb helps somewhat. I’ve experienced this flying around Managua Nicaragua flying over Lake Nicaragua, the volcanic islands on the lake then back over the city of Managua in P3DV5, Realturb North America and no Active Sky. Vic green
February 14, 20251 yr Water absorbs heat while earth reflects it. So at any given summer temperature you can fell the turbulence over land and not so much over water. But no sim (except full motion simulators) can really replicate turbulence. You may see it but you can't feel it sitting in an office chair in front of a monitor. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

So instead of a nice smooth ride the fuselage bumps up and down as it encounters the turbulent air. Ray (Cheshire, England). Well, I haven't been flight simming for almost two years but I recall when cruising in level flight periodically the aircraft I was flying appeared to run into turbulence. It didn't last long and didn't disrupt the flight. I didn't have to do anything to correct. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

February 15, 20251 yr I believe it happened at almost any altitude when I was flying cross country. I assume your talking about AGL since I normally flew in our Rocky Mountains area. Roswell is about 3600 feet. I usually cruised at about 5,000 ft AGL. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
February 15, 20251 yr Author Moderator @birdguy, yes. You would appear to be flying at a similar altitude to me. Ray (Cheshire, England).
