February 16, 20251 yr I cannot, for the life of me, successfully start the engine in the default TBM in MSFS2024. It struggles to get to 30%NG then it really struggles to get to 50%. Once it hits 50%, it stalls. Then, the battery drains. I have followed all the checklists. I even spawned it once on the runway, and when I started the flight it was stable for about 10 seconds, then the engine stalled. Don't tell me to just get the Black Square. That's not an answer. I like the G3000 and love the plane in MSFS2020. I've read the plane is not that great to begin with, but it seems like people can actually fly it! Just want to decide myself. Any help would be great.
February 16, 20251 yr for what it is worth i have no problem with it in 2024. The engine occasionally stalls and needs re-starting but that is all - from a runway start.
February 16, 20251 yr I just did a successful start + take + climb from cold & dark. A few things to try: 1) Make sure you do all the external things in walkaround mode. Maybe something doesn't get done on a runway start. 2) Is your throttle out of the gate? 3) Don't over-rev the engine. UPDATE: I did a runway start. No problems at all ... so not sure what your problem might be :( Edited February 17, 20251 yr by Adamski_NZ
February 17, 20251 yr It works well here, but it stutters. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
February 18, 20251 yr Author I figured it out! The default Honeycomb Bravo settings has mixture and auto-throttle (which the TBM doesn't even support) settings mapped to axes and buttons. This created a conflict when starting the engine. I've seen others having problems with the plane stalling. If you have the HB, I'd suggest going through the assigned controls and deleting all those that deal with fuel and throttle (except, of course, what you want to keep). I would suggest starting from scratch, but re-setting all of the MCP buttons and switches can be a pain.
