iI failed to make clear that it was not a matter of control bindings - the entire system was malfunctioning, and had been for months, so SU's were not responsible. I have just reinstalled msfs2024 and, although i have not done proper testing, it looks as though it will work properly.

For some time (ie months) I have not been able to get helicopters to run. Includes flight training (not much happens and then a ctd). trying to start a flight in a basic 'copter but no controls work, and i cannot get it to lift off the ground. Suggestions welcome! Thanks

for what it is worth i have no problem with it in 2024. The engine occasionally stalls and needs re-starting but that is all - from a runway start.

For what it is worth, I had similar problems with the TBM (autopilot malfunctions). I solved them by 'rebooting' the plane - choosing to load another plane type and then reverting to the TBM. After that it worked fine.

Hi Jim.thanks for the informative reply. I have sliders well to the left and standard aircraft. Only add-on is NZ scenery. By 'stutters' and 'pauses' I mean fps dropping to about 3, or a complete freezing of the display for 2 or 3 seconds. I will follow up on the 'negative LOD bias from allow to clamp' on the video card once I figure out how to do this! Will also check your reference site. Can I ask whether Acceleration provides a performance boost over SP2?. Also, would improving my grpahcis card (has a Windows Exp of 3.6 if that helps) make a difference?Thanks again for your commentsPS What does 'OP' stand for?

Hi,I have recently returned to FS after a long period.I reinstalled FSX,SP1 and SP2.I have W7/64, 4 GB of memory and a moderate graphics card (512 MBs)If I run FSX without Direct X 'preview' i get reasonable performance at 15fps - in an intense scenery area (no autogen)When I turn on DX10 preview there are lots of stutters and pauses with the frame rate dropping to as low as 3 fps.Two questions:a) Does Direct X preview add anything to scenery/cockpit resilution?:( If so, would getting a better graphics card - 1GB of memory say - be likely to improve frame rates?Thanks for any help
