January 3Jan 3 For some time (ie months) I have not been able to get helicopters to run. Includes flight training (not much happens and then a ctd). trying to start a flight in a basic 'copter but no controls work, and i cannot get it to lift off the ground. Suggestions welcome! Thanks

January 3Jan 3 Helicopters work very well for me, right out of the box. But I am talking about payware models from Miltech, Cowansim, and Taog's Hangar. With the default EC135 I have no control mapping problems, but it is uncontrollable for me anyway.

Thanks I've had zero issues with either Default or Payware helos as long as I use the Helicopter-specific control bindings in v2024. And IIRC, the the three helos I have that were released after v2024 launched worked right out of the box (along with the Defaults). So, as jcomm said above, the first thing I'd look at is your control bindings. Take one of the helos - preferably one you have NOT used - and see if that works. If so, then work your way backwards from there. Also, consider whether you're using some intermediate control mapping software like Spad.next, etc. Probably best to take one of the Defaults and just reset ALL controls for it to Default, or delete and rebuild.
January 6Jan 6 Author iI failed to make clear that it was not a matter of control bindings - the entire system was malfunctioning, and had been for months, so SU's were not responsible. I have just reinstalled msfs2024 and, although i have not done proper testing, it looks as though it will work properly.
