Activate PSXT aircraft in MSFS

Featured Replies

I have many flight plans installed using AIG.  I have PSXT installed to display these aircraft in MSFS.  Problem I have is PSXT giving an error 81 - apparently this error is describing MSFS not seeing the AIG folders.

I have read many replies that the AG folders need 'activating' in MSFS before MSFS can display aircraft requested by PSXT.  However, I have not seen how to actually do this. The PSXT author has said many times this is not a PSXT issue - I know it isn't, but I cannot find an answer to this.

Those using AIG/PSXT, did you have this problem and found how to fix it?  I have had it working before, but I didn't have to do anything as it just worked!  Never got it working on my new PC.

Your subject title is not right I'm afraid, it must be "how to I install AIG aircraft in MSFS?"  Maybe the AIG forum can help you out.

If OCI is installed via AIM the package is enabled by defualt since it is in the Community folder, no need to enable anything. If you have OCI outside the community folder AIM is generating a link between both locations. If you remove this link MSFS will not see the OCI package outside the community directory.

All OCI folders are in the community folder.

Sometimes (Steam?) users have two Community folders (by accident).

Are you using a default installation of MSFS (btw what version are you talking about, 20 or 24?) or have you moved the Community folder?

2024.  I am on steam and always have a separate community folder on a different drive to MSFS.  PSXT install path (on PSXT screen)  is to this external community folder.

Okay, but does MSFS 2024 know? I doubt it because MSFS 2024 does not know the aircraft PSXT sees in your community folder (see below) ...

That's correct.

Yes it does know, because I have set the path to the community folder in MSFS settings (Marketplace/mylibrary.  All other addons in that community folder are recognised and available in sim.

I don't know Steam, and I don't know what you mean with MSFS settings, but Marketplace/mylibrary does not look like a Community folder to me. What Install path are you using in PSXT?

In 2024 one can set the location to the community folder.  This setting can be found in MSFS settings/Marketplace/My Library.  My community folder is in F:\MSFS2024\Community

So you have to set Install Path in PSXT to F:\MSFS2024

Found the problem with a checkbox in AI-Manager.  The option is to disable OCI services in MSFS - it was checked.  Seems a very odd option!

Good catch!   In my AIG settings services is disabled indeed, don't know who told me that or maybe it is default?

I believe that in that context 'Disable Services' is a flag to indicate to AIG TC that it shouldn't attempt to generate food trucks, fuel bowsers, etc. for AI aircraft. I'm not sure how that would be relevant for PSXT, which doesn't use TC.

Oh, well that is very odd!  I had nothing but error 81 in PSXT until I unticked that option. I now have full traffic in PSXT that is showing over 4000.
