February 26, 20251 yr Hi, I’m facing a few issues in MSFS 2024 which I believe are somewhat self inflicted. I’d like to uninstall and reinstall, but really CBA to do the controller bindings again. If I was to uninstall via the normal Windows route, then install again, would I still keep my controller bindings? At the absolute worst case scenario, what would I possibly lose? Thanks, Mike Edited February 26, 20251 yr by MikeV1

Worst case - you will lose everything and it will be like a brand new install. Is this possible? Sure, but it's not certain or even very likely. I have reinstalled thrice since launch and had no issues. I believe it is possible to back up your controls setup by backing up a file somewhere, but don't recall exactly which file. I'm sure someone else may remember. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

IIRC this is the folder to back up: %localAppData%\packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs Btw, I’ve done many reinstalls, never lost my assignments. I think the graphics settings need yo be re-set though. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I'd uninstall it via the Xbox app. Bring it up, go to library and click on the 3 dots next to the MSFS2024. It will keep control settings but yes, you will need to re-do graphics options.
