Why does simbrief insist on giving me the Veeck5 approach to rwy 27C at KORD, It makes zero sense?

Jeppesen charts say that Star can be used for most runways including 27C

KORD is an odd airport.

That is nuts, take you miles to the west of the airport to land on as runway from the east,,,LOL  Watsn4 Star would be perfect for 27C. I wonder why Simbrief can't figure that out?

Look at the chart - the note at CLUSO. “Landing west expect radar vectors to final approach course after CLUSO”

So you’ll ever fly the whole STAR all the way to the west of the field. You’d get vectored onto the ILS after CLUSO like the chart says. Or just vector yourself 🙂

If you click on Find SID/STAR next to the flight plan box, it should show a box with alternatives you can click on if there are any available for your selected airport/runway.

The plans Simbrief suggest are ones either made by other users, taken from VATSIM or taken from real world routes.

I don't know what route you're doing, but here are ones for KATL to KORD 27C, all apparently real world routes

It happens very frequently in real life as well. When ORD is in west flow, you may initially be cleared via VEECK or ESSPO coming from the southeast and almost always count on being re-cleared via the WATSN as you get closer to ORD.

Yep in fact the VEECK star states: NOTE: Expect possible reroute to WATSN RNAV STAR.
