Advice on new PC.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at getting a new PC and I want it to be a good one.  I'm looking at this one with an RTX5090.  It has a ton of options and I'm looking for advice as to what I need (memory, cooling, power supply, anything else?). I've heard that water cooling the 5090 is worth it.  Could you give me some advice on what changes you would make?

Thanks in advance!

In would get a better power supply for sure. 1,000W is a borderline these days, especially with those fancy 5XXX GPUs.

9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung,  AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

Isn't cyber power like the bottom of the barrel PC manufacturer?

I've not kept up with them at all but they used to use basic components.

If you live anywhere near a Microcenter they can actually build a PC for you using the components you choose.  There's a bit of a charge but I believe they even can assist you and build it with you.

Jetline is good for a MSFS rig but they're quite pricey.

Some of the builds on Newegg are pretty nice too.

If you do go with Cyberpower run the exact build specs for us here - just to make sure the components are decent.  I would not sub par parts in a PC running a 5090.

Edit.  Completely forgot to mention origin PC.  They're probably one of the best.  Pricing out a ultra high end build with 9800x3d and 5090 with 64 GB RAM and some high end M.2s will set you back 6k easily and maybe 7000 or so after shipping.
