March 15, 20251 yr I use the GFE Details filter adjusting its various sliders to selectively and greatly increase VC and glass cockpit panel brightness with minimal impact on the external view. Without it it's always been dim, dull land hard to discern details in the VC, some planes worse than others. There is I think an EyeAdaptation control or something like that one can edit but a long time ago when I played with that it seemed to make no significant difference. Unfortunately my cherished Details filter in 2024 causes a panning problem it's just not smooth as it is in 2020. If I turn Details off in 2024 it's super smooth again, but then I'm left with this dull and hard to see VC. I'm only using two planes in 2024 so far, two default planes. FWIW Details on or off has no FPS impact at all, it's just the panning issue where presumably the software can't keep up with the pan rate but not an issue in 2020. So if you're someone not happy with the VC and glass panel brightness in planes like the Longitude and have found a way to improve that substantially please share thanks in advance. The video below was done with HDR off whereas when HDR is on I believe the VC gets even darker, and that is with using Windows HDR Calibration tool and default settings in NCP. This video partially demonstrates the brighter VC w/ the Details filter ON with minimal impact on the external view which I find a net plus as it adds subtle detail to distant clouds etc. I say partially because it's much more dramatic in viewing the screen directly versus this video capture: Edited March 15, 20251 yr by Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. March 15, 20251 yr Are you using Frame Generation? I find panning with FG often goes bad - and I have to use the ALT+ENTER kludge to fix it. However - toggling between exterior and VC views often triggers the stutters again. When that keeps happening I usually disable FG for that session.

I went back to GFE and you can use GFE in 2024 w/o crashing. It was tricky to set it up correctly because NVidia keeps trying to get you into NV App, and required an old NV driver w/ GFE in the installer, DDU to clear out residuals from the NV app and other, then finally updated to the latest NV driver but deselected NV App install, and it's been fine since. Kind of weird right now not much problem with panning here at NZQN w/ Details on. In fact you can find the circa Feb 2024 driver I used successfully here: Nvidia GeForce Graphics Driver 551.52 Download | TechSpot Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. Let's hope it doesn't take too long. Let's hope it doesn't take too long. That happened to me a few times but finally got around it and all good now for both 2020 and 2024. I'm thinking DDU played a role in that, but especially old driver as well. I tried with a circa Oct 2024 NV driver which had GFE, but got stuck w/ the NV app install issue. I was really frustrated and about to give up but alas finally got there after finding the old driver. My sequence was if I recall correctly: Delete all NV apps except NCP, including the App, and prior GFE using Win add/remove apps Go into Windows Safe Mode Run DDU and select all the entries under NVIDIA Specific Options including Remove GFE/NV app Reboot, then install the driver I found at TechSpot mentioned above, and install using its Clean Install option (clears DX shader files) You can optionally now upgrade to the latest NV graphics driver and opt out of the App. Edited March 16, 20251 yr by Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
