What happens when you select Yes to recommended? Have you tried just installing a newer version?

I had issues with the previous version, so unstalled and now

You should not uninstall. The new version will do the uninstall for you, unless you have messed up things...

Then I messed up.

I was getting the other error that people were describing, so I uninstalled and hoped reinstalling would solve it. Now I can't get past this screen. Is there anything I can do? Thanks

Yes of course.

Assuming you want to run PSXT, otherwise read for PSXT, PSXT_P3D, PSXTraffic or PSXTraffic_P3D

1. Delete your PSXT folder.

2. Delete the C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\PSXT folder.

3. Download PSXT 10.7.8 from my web site in your downloads folder

4. Unzip

5. Run the setupxxx.exe as Administrator.

6. Take the default installation folder given by the installer (C:\PSXT)

7. Complete the install.

8. Double click at the PSXT icon at your desktop ...

I've tried this doing all the steps you described. I've deleted all the PSXT folders from my PC and I'm still getting the same error message when trying to install again.

It says 'uninstallation failed', but I'm not trying to uninstall, I'm trying to reinstall...?

Go to the registry editor (by typing RegEdit in the windows Search field of the TaskBar), delete this entry (if still there, what I expects):

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\PSXT_is1

That screenshot is somewhere totally different than where you need to look.

These are the entries I have...

No sign of PSXT_is1

Please follow my instructions..., you are at the wrong place (in SYSTEM instead of SOFTWARE). You must look here:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

I was in uninstall (I had just opened the tree, not double clicked). There's still no PSXT_is1 in there...

Can you proove that with a screenshot, please?

The error message you get is generated only if such an entry is there...

Thx, but I now found out that PSXT is a 64 bit program , so you have to look here (sorry for that):

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\PSXT_is1

Or Search the Register for PSXT, that will work too
