March 22, 20251 yr XP 11 One of my buttons on my throttle base is set to saved view no. 6. I dont know how it got like that but its useful there. What it really does is switch between the last 2 views you manually set in the cockpit. Its a good feature and useful but I didnt set it to do that....As I try to master all the settings controls in X 11 ,I cant help but wonder why it does that? Like I said it is set in the menu to saved 3d no.6. what is going on with that? Normally when you set a view you just get 1 view..
March 22, 20251 yr It's a feature 🙂 In X-Plane 11, you can assign a joystick button to toggle between the last two views by setting it to "Saved 3D View No. 6". This function allows you to switch back and forth between the last two views you manually set in the cockpit (shhh, don't tell anyone, but this was the answer my Copilot just gave me to your problem ...) and... btw, thx for asking because I wasn't aware of it. I don't use Xp11 anymore, but it also applies to X-Plane 12 ! 😁 Edited March 22, 20251 yr by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
March 23, 20251 yr whenever you press a switch to saved view button a second time, it returns to the view you were at before you pressed it a first time. neither save the view or switch to it are "hardcoded" you can change the bindings for all of the from the joystick & keyboard settings pages. although obviously saving a view from the joystick page isnt quite as useful. March 23, 20251 yr Author There is something going on with the red buttons on the WinWIng Orion base....those 2 red buttons behave differently....but I like the outcome anyway mostly.. I do look forward to trying MSFS 24 when its running well and the prices for used PC s are really cheap...which might be quite soon..
