April 12, 20251 yr On descent in KATL today, I heard a call over the radio: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached our cruise altitude of 32000 feet...whoops, sorry, Atlanta Center, wrong button!" The pilot quickly quipped, "Atlanta Center, ignore that last call, pretend it didn't happen." Atlanta Center humorously retorted, "Sure, we, and the other 20 pilots on this frequency, will pretend it didn't happen!" Just WOW!!! That exchange made my day because it happens more times than we'd like to admit in the RW. We've heard pilots get on the PA and think they're talking to the center and vice versa. It happened once on my 5-hour flight, the first time I've heard it in 10 hours of flying this week, so it's not a clown show. But knowing that it could happen just adds to the suspension of disbelief. I've watched Beyond ATC constantly evolve and mature into one of the best flight simulation programs I've had since I started in 1986. No, it's not perfect, and there is some work to do yet, but I never let good be the enemy of perfect.
