Need help - Wrong Ms2024 path

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'll make this quick.

  • I uninstalled MS2020 (drive M:) + all addons a few months ago.
  • I installed MS2024 on a new drive (N:).
  • I kept this M drive for a while with the files that remained after MS2020 was uninstalled. All was well.
  • I have reinstalled a lot of addons
  • Then I finally reformatted the M drive and changed the letter to D
  • Today I decided to reinstall some planes from justflight.com and all the installations crashed.
  • Before sending a ticket to justflight support I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the A2A commanche 250. At the time of the reinstallation it crashed by saying to me that it did not find the disk M:
  • So I changed again the letter of the disk of D towards M: and the install detected M: well and proposed a path M:...packages/community to me.
  • I was able to change the installation path to N:MS2024.
  • I tried again to install a justfight plane that crashed and it installed it directly on M:

So somewhere there is still a trace of the path to the old 2020 which must not have uninstalled 100%

Can anyone help me?

Thank you. Franck

If you can find your usercfg.opt file (in LocalCache folder), the last or second to last line should point to the content folder.   In my case:

InstalledPackagesPath "D:\MSFS2024 Content"

This is where the addons look for the installation location.

Suggest searching for "usercfg.opt" on your C drive and see what turns up..

Hello,

no, I have the correct path: InstalledPackagesPath "N:\MSFSPackages"

Could it be in "registry"?

I haven’t used Just flight in a while , but does it have its own storefront installer (like Inibuilds or Fenix..). It yes, maybe the settings in the installer program need to be updated.

Is your package folder inside MSFSPackages, as N:\MSFSPackages\Packages (I use Steam so the naming of packages may be different for you)?  Maybe your path should just be N:\?

I use Steam, so I have put my Community folder on F:\MSFS2024\Community, therefor my path is F:\MSFS24 - check you have the right path.
