May 11, 20251 yr I'm having an issue that when I start MSFS 2020 it starts minmised and clicking on it in the taskbar doesn't restore the program window, it flashed momentarily but I cannot access the window. I then have to crash the program to exit it, end the task so each time it's starting with the run in safe mode warning bo, still minimised with same issue so I can't click on it. I've tried rebooting the PC and this is still happening. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help Jon

May 11, 20251 yr Hmm - I had such an issue not that long ago with a different software - the PMDG Operation Center. The problem was that the OC was started on a monitor my Windows thought was connected (but was not). So I could see the program in the task bar being active and I could click on it - but as you described besides- nothing happened except for a flash on my monitor. Do you use multiple monitors? If yes - did you recently changed the monitor set-up or are you using a docking station? In my case - I am using one of my monitors also when I'm working at home with my laptop from work. I have a HMDI switch for that which was the problem here.
May 11, 20251 yr Author Thanks, both. I do have two monitors but it was trying to open on the correct (main) one. I did reinstall xbox ap as per the link above. I'm not sure whether that's what has made a difference but I can now click on the taskbar icon and maximise the window, clear the safe mode error message and get MSFS to start normally. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
May 11, 20251 yr You can always open Task Manager, right-click on MSFS under Apps, and maximise it there. That's what I had to do for a while before it 'cured' itself. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
