Is Pitch Trim Working For You?

Featured Replies

Flying a Cessna it resets to zero. I can look down and watch the wheel move by one increment then it resets again. If I hold the pitch trim button either up or down I can see the nose of the plan go in that direction, then it levels out. If I go outside view I can watch AOA move then it resets back to zero. I don't have this problem in MSFS 2020. It used to work just fine but something changed in an update. Am I missing something really obvious?

For a quick test, unplug your USB controllers except for the keyboard and mouse, and see if that makes any difference. Is so you likely have a binding conflict somewhere. Unfortunately, for some of the common controllers, like the Honeycomb controllers, FS2024 automatically makes default binding assignments for some of the buttons and switches

I think it could be a design configuration option which applies to only some few planes? Or maybe autotrim is turned on in settings.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Yes, the worst Controller user interface ever created.  When changing controller settings MSFS 2024 you need to make sure you're configuring them for the correct profile and for the correct control set ... it's the most bizarre process I've ever experienced.  MSFS 2020 was considerably better after several updates.

As pointed out  you probably have some selected for a specific aircraft.

They use forward/backward sliders rather than a dropdown so you can actually see all the ones defined and select the one you want ... but currently you have to "slide" thru them all until you reach the one you defined/want.  It's bizarre.  They do the same with many settings where you have to slide thru EVERY option rather than just a dropdown where you can see and pick the one you want.

I tried that and i'm using the XBOX One controller. Unplugging it has made no difference. What's weird is that this isn't a problem in MSFS 2020 with the same Cessna 172, it works the way it is supposed too. It worked fine in MSFS 2024 and then at one point it stopped working.
