May 25, 20251 yr https://www.flightsim.com/files/file/212442-kefd-ellington-2025-refresh-fsx-circa-2006-2010-johnson-space-center-houston/ Description: This is a freeware update for KEFD, published 2025 for FSX, and includes CVX landclass and ADEX.bgl files for KEFD and surrounding greater area, circa 2006-2010. File includes very accurate landclass fixes for the surrounding Bay Area of Houston, and I added tons of VFR scenery objects, featuring Johnson Space Center Houston. Including: -- Pasadena water treatment facility (Rwy 17) -- NASA buoyancy lab -- Pasadena shopping center off of Beltway 8 -- San Jacinto College -- Pasadena convention center -- Johnson Space Center Houston -- Baybrook mall area -- storage units across from Rwy 35 Landclass fixes are extremely accurate, as I used satellite imagery from circa 2006-2010 era. This was both an era when the 147th FW was active, and there was a lot less buildings in the era. -- In addition: -- I added NASA T38 and F16 parking with ramps -- Straightened out the very crooked and inaccurate runways and taxis from the other freeware -- added lighting to KEFD ramps and parking -- added parking for coast guard MH 65 and helicopter parking for user. -- Landclass fixes for the barren Spring-cypress greater area (KIAH-KDWH area). I hope you enjoy, north and southeast Houston no longer look like farms and fields with sparce patches of random houses. -DJN
May 26, 20251 yr Looks interesting. Will it be compatible with Orbx OpenLC and Vector? Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.
May 26, 20251 yr Author It should be, assuming ORBX vector is in the same location as UTX vectors. As far as open LC, yes, everything was done in ADE, so its just going to populate over the top of you landclass.

Currently working on Austin Texas. Keep in mind if anyone downloads, i forgot to add a readme for the eurocopter Mh65 dolphin, its supposed to go in the scenery --> global --> scenery and texture file respectively not the add on scenery file. Ill make an update to the upload to include that readme. -Djn
May 26, 20251 yr Author Was literally in bed going mannnn i forgot that read me... i hope people figured out where it goes. ill post an update here in a bit. ^^ DISREGARD^^ I did include the readme for the mh65 dolphin, I was just worried I'd leave yal hanging after all of the hard work! Seriously enjoy, -DJN Edited May 26, 20251 yr by Sweetd31
May 30, 20251 yr Author If anybody tested it out, let me know if all the textures are showing, if the light poles are working, that is, does ellington have lights at night? i am unsure if i needed to include the file for the lights? That is the T38 ramps, helicopter parking etc should have light poles lighting them up. i plan on doing a version 2.0 to redo the "highrise" textures, to blend in better. I learned a technique that default fsx uses. So ill have to go back and make those area look a little better. Also, finish the cy fair-katy area. My goal is to do all the major Texas cities, almost finished with Austin.

September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author New version 2.0 going to publish this week, ready to put a final bow on version 2.0. Just compared it to FS2024 and I giggle at how accurate my little polygonal KEFD Houston Bay area is - Holy moly does FS2024 look beautiful though
September 18, 2025Sep 18 Author Small update, I have decided to take my time and complete the runway 17 approach west of beltway 8. The bondie jr high, pasadena memorial high school, and crenshaw park area. Including major increases in LOD around fairmont parkway and beltway 8. I felt that it was lacking the same level of detail that I put in for all the other approaches, and was a tad sparce. But this will definitely wrap up version 2.0, soon come FSX and P3D users. Still aiming for a release very soon.
October 11, 2025Oct 11 Author Officially calling V2.0 complete, I will upload it tomorrow. Just have to make one tiny adjustment. Just flew it at night for the first time, and wow.
October 11, 2025Oct 11 Good job, congratulations and thanks for the release. One question: is the static 747 there replacing the Vomit Comet shown IRL there (next to the Lone Star Flight Museum)? One question: is the static 747 there replacing the Vomit Comet shown IRL there (next to the Lone Star Flight Museum)? Yes, there is a 747 at the entrance of KEFD/by the museum. But the photo above is the 747-space shuttle transporter next to the Johnson Space Center and Gemini V rocket. I have not uploaded it yet, I need to tighten up one little spot towards hobby airport or "southbelt", and then package everything together. I will 100% post today. ---- I plan on posting a point of interest map, and read me and/or word document with changes. I put a TON of work into this, and delayed it a month to make it extra proper!
