Does anyone still use FFTF Dynamic.?

It used to be quite useful but now I don't see any difference.

It does not seem as necessary as it once was, but I do use it. I usually turn it on when I actually notice it's missing, usually at lower altitudes around regional or larger airports. I have it set for the AGL Height Scenario. I have it for V5 and V6.

Glad to hear I am not alone.

I use FFTF for both P3D 4.5 & 5.3

It's automatically run as part of my scripted startup where items like the below are scripted as a single start point.

  • EmptyStandbyList  (Memory clearing commands)
  • ASP3D                     (HiFi's weather app)
  • JoyToKey                (used for mapping key combos to joysticks)
  • LRM                         (a landing rate monitor)
  • littlenavmap             (used for mapping and planning)
  • RTSS                        (to manage the sim base fps - P3D is always set as unlimited internally)
  • LosslessScaling      (for smooth vsync's frame generation to 60 fps)
  • Prepar3D                  (can be 4.5 or 5.3 atm)

There are some extra items run via P3D's exe.xml, FFTF being one of them.

Personally FFTF, whilst has proven helpful to minimising the chance of a blurry texture, the biggest difference has been made by LosslessScaling's frame generation, where for general flying I do a base of 20 or 30 fps with LS generating to 60 fps.

The latest version of LS is quite good in that rather than just do a times based fps increase like 2 x 30 = 60, I can set a target of 60 and LS will maintain 60 even if the base fps should drop a little, in fact I can raise or lower the base fps (via RTSS) while flying with LS maintaining the 60 fps and is very helpful for managing CPU & GPU loads in given scenarios.

If fact LS is the snake oil I've always wanted for real and large measured performance improvement, of course better hardware would also be nice but LS's price point is unbeatable.

Cheers
