Streamdeck+ buttons no longer work 4.53 b19

Featured Replies

Hello again. I've just updated to the latest version for MSFS 2020 i.e. 4.53 b19. I now find that the display for the MFD IE events has changed and I am at a loss to understand what it means for my SD+ buttons. The MFD ENTER button in my SD+ no longer opens the MFD in the default C172. The Heading Sync button does not work either. However, the Yoke Hider one does. I have most of my SD+ buttons set to use the IE Events. I'm not a technical person, but I can use the option to watch the simulator events and I see that it still shows as IE Events when I use the mouse to action the MFD Enter button in the sim. Once I open the MFD, I find that the softkeys no longer work either from my SD+. The PFD softkeys do not work either. I have no idea as to what has changed after the update.

Can you give me any information on where I find IE Events for the MFD and PFD in the new AAO update? I realise that I may not have worded this very well, and will respond to any input from yourself. Thanks.

Regards...Kenny

Chris, the dev for a lot of AAO profiles on fs.to had to rework his A350 inibuilds profile yesterday due to these updates. Many of his buttons stopped working. I noticed he went from an IE key down event to B.

Two of the most prolific SD profile authors out there are also AAO testers. They've had version 4.53 for a while and didn't complain.

Are you sure that it is the app version and not the sim itself? Are you in the simulator beta program (which sim, 20 or 24)? I know that Asobo is working on the IEs because apparently they weren't operating as intended.

Can you give me a concrete example of what was working before but isn't working now?

Was that "Chris PU /A320"? I was in contact with him just yesterday evening, he said nothing about trouble with IEs. Or was that some other Chris?

For the record, the BVars are the "bindings" of an IE, the two belong together.

Follow-up: it looks like IEs are working differently now in MSFS 2020 and 2024. That is just great.

Asobo said, that the IEs reported over SimConnect have always shown one more parameter than they really had. And this was supposed to be corrected in one of the SUs. They way it looks now is, that this has been corrected in MSFS 2020 but not in 2024.

I need to know what exact simulator version(s) you currently have, so I can decide what to do. I have 1.39.0.0 for FS20 and 1.5.4.0 for FS24. I am registered in both Beta's

As an alternative to IEs you can always use BVars.

The BVar is the "binding" of an IE:

- When you read the value of a BVar, then "(B:something)" is the same as "(IE:something)"

- When writing to a BVar you have to add a "do-word":
1 (>IE:something) becomes 1 (>B:something_Toggle)  or _Set, _Push, _Inc, _Dec, _Open, _Close etc.

It was him. I worked with him yesterday morning identifying and fixing all the issues.

I am on the latest version of MS2020, 1.38.2.0. I am not in the SU16 beta. So it might have been a silent server side fix.

No, it must be the app itself. Looks like most testers are only using FS24 at this point, so apparently nobody noticed.

After SU3 is released, I’ll be switching over to it.

Please send me an email with your proof of purchase on the support address (last page of the manual). I will provide a new version that should fix it. If that is working out, I will release that version as a hotfix ASAP.

Looking fwd to that hotfix. Much appreciated how fast you’ve been able to address this.

4.54 is currently being tested. Dealing with four different sim variants made this more complex than necessary (FS20 and 24 both in production and beta variants). I'm still not 100% sure that FS20 handles IEs over SimConnect as it should. The number of parameters is all over the place, sometimes 1, sometimes 2, for no reason. 4.54 tries to work around this.
