Lol delete it, learn to navigate in game. Learn those roads and waterways that orbx provided.

enjoy fsx the way it was intended, because i didnt see you complain about the 2500 ft poolberg smoke stacks. Because dude, your entire country fits inside of one and a half Texas cities

Ireland literally fits inside of Houston and Austin Texas combined. So dont even act like you need a flight tracker, i use VOR to go from San Diego to El Paso in a T38 with steam gauges.

Mate I promise you, I can have the flight tracker and not b about stuff. It tracks my flight paths and stuff.

Mate I promise you I am never posting here again and going to whatever site that allows a mute button.

Never mind, problem solved.

Yeah, i give you full permission to add elevation correction polygons! OR go into the renmore P3D source folder and edit the airport properties!

I had to match it to default fsx mesh, which took some trial and error. Hospital is my favorite, those pads turned out awesome, i love spotting them from a distance and setting up an approach

Thank you! I use Flight1 AFX for airport elevation modifications when necessary but I won’t change the elevation as I use Orbx for my VFR flying without the Tabouret mesh (the Orbx regions come with their own terrain mesh) and there are absolutely no elevation issues at Renmore with that. It occurs only when using Tabouret mesh and even then it is a minor issue.

I have various scenery configurations for FSX and I usually use UTX with the Tabouret mesh (with Orbx regions deactivated) for my IFR flying as the aircraft I use for that tend to have high resource demand and, if used with the resource heavy Orbx regions, can tend to push FSX close to its 4GB VAS limit.

Yeah, those pads really are awesome! I haven’t seen that sort of pad lighting before but then I haven’t really done much night helicopter flying until I came across those hospital pads!

Wait, what? Why am I being muted over saying that I want to use a flight tracker while playing FSX? The flight tracker has nothing to do with any past issues. Volanta is a great platform. Did I do something wrong? I genuinely don't see as to why we would fallout over that.

It is actually great fun navigating by following linear features on the ground such as roads, railways, rivers etc and becomes even more of a challenge when the weather becomes marginal!

Or if you want to wind up the challenge further you could try flying from A to B using the so-called dead reckoning method taking into account the wind speed and direction at your altitude to correct your heading and calculate your ground speed. Using this method a VFR flight plan is created beforehand where you estimate the crossing times for various features on the map that you should fly over or pass by. One had to learn to navigate this way as part of the requirement for a Private Pilot's Licence in the pre-GPS days. There is even an app for the iPad (maybe also for Android tablets) replicating the hand-held E6B Flight Computer that we used for such calculations in 'the olden days' (maybe it still is used!).The E6B app is very easy to learn and use and really adds to the sense of immersion when navigating without any radio aids (although these can of course still be used as backup if you get lost). I even used the E6B once when recreating a transatlantic flight from Shannon to Gander in the great A2A Constellation. It did the trick but all I can say is thank God for accelerated time in FSX!

That does sound interesting, I just happen to use a flight tracker. Times have changed, technology has changed. No offense, but Volanta is sort of a GPS for me. Its useful for tracking my flightpath, a basic logbook of my flights, and sort of like an upgraded real time version of the map you can pull up. It is handy, but I respect your preferences.

I’m very much aware that times and technology have changed (!) and indeed I myself use the GTN750 for my GPS and I subscribe to Navigraph which I can use as a flight tracker when I want to. I was simply suggesting the other navigation techniques as a way of adding a bit more challenge and fun to the experience!

Leaving that aside, I am conscious that we are going off topic here so I suggest we confine this thread to the purpose for which it was intended - the great and very generous work of Sweetd31!

I might call it at Galway. This stuff is a lot of work. I'd much rather work on stuff i enjoy. I have Sligo dialed in. But i am going to put it on hold and just enjoy some flying/work on finishing my Texas project

Fair enough, keep forgetting that. To be fair, Galway is pretty much the main hospital and area I'd be flying to, or Dublin so it's fine. I can use Strandhill airport for that stuff.
