I am probably going to take some weeks off once this is published. Any changes is going to come later. I'd rather work on different things. Both the railroad and the highway 6 was present, I had plenty of reference. I am certain even if I never publish a V2 of this for orbx, that it would be beyond accurate as is.

So any orbx modifications is going to be after I have taken time off from this project. I mean this is what it looked like before.

It was literally nothing but the N6, the river, and the railroad. I added literally everything you see in these images. Very much so a take it or leave type ordeal! Only for my sanity. Please, respect that. Understand that not even fsx default scenery is 100% accurate.

Of course missing the rail bridge, working on a solution for that.

I am beyond satisfied, and I am about to laugh when I see how much it aligns with orbx.

Oh no don't take it up wrong. I am beyond happy at what you made and to be honest, yeah, sometimes you forget developers are people that need to rest. I don't really think you have to modify it. It will be PERFECT as it is. God don't stress yourself no, it's brilliant.

Orbx again, fixes the roads and lakes, that's no issue. My happiness will be immeasurable, not that it wasn't already. Oh, and I also simulate the Garda and IAC EC135 so it will be TOP NOTCH!

Shoot i am just doing this so I have a more enjoyable experience flying my cerasim product!

Never really had a heliport to land at, and as I started developing it, I started noticing the challenging approach that it had. The city has several VFR oopsies that if you're not careful.

I cannot exaggerate enough the amount of touch and goes I did, fly across the river, reapproach, touch and go, repeat. I had so much fun. And at night, the little blue light is such a nice touch to this project, and wait until you see the amount of work I put into collision lights for towers! I even made the desynchronized on big towers, like they would be in real life. I very much so had fun, and learned a TON about the Cerasim Dauphin in the process. But thank you!

I forgot about the Cerasim focus 🤣. Another reminder that it's a town, not a city. And it's actually thank YOU! For making a childhood dream a reality, for actually having so much passion in this, I never really knew this was (if not) your first heliport experience. I am honoured at the amount of praise you have for this project. Something about the Irish-American connection makes it extra passionate too!

Early preliminary work, going to work on the town center, and the barracks area. I need to push the base back a little, but there is a helipad and airport ADEX, and the landclass that I chose it the one that looks best for Ireland.

That was like a month ago when this began. look how far you came!

Whoops one sec

Here you go, here is the finished product, I fixed the railroad, but this is currently with a 2D bridge. Also, I had to add back the blue light. What happens is as the project becomes so large, things will start to disappear. I personally do not mind the 2d bridge, but I am going to try and use EIAB airport to populate a bridge.

Boom, tear it up, officially published. I will post to the other sites, they require approval. I am beyond satisfied, but it is time to put it to a close. I tried to get a 3D bridge to spawn, but as mentioned, FSX runs into memory issues. But either way, you will have you hands full doing approaches, especially if you use weather.

I will not lie, I hit the building twice last night trying to rush landings. Good luck!

Hi, just to confirm after some test flights in the Cerasim Bell 212 that your Athlone scenery appears to work seamlessly with Orbx Ireland. As always however it is important that users should ensure that the Addon scenery entry is above the Orbx scenery in the scenery library. Initially, when I saw the shipping containers and piles of logs in the barrack's parade ground, I thought some extraneous objects had crept in from somewhere until I looked on Google Earth and realised the parade ground is surprisingly messy being full of containers and other assorted stuff!!

In my setup the town bridges still appear to be 2D (which actually doesn't bother me) with no arches visible on the road bridge near the church but then that seems to be the case with many of the bridges in Orbx Ireland. Another observation was that the roof of the nearby church in my setup is brownish/red unlike your screenshots where it is, quite correctly, green. I think this might be something to do with the fact that I also have the Orbx Global Base Pack installed as this modifies the default textures providing new ground textures as well new textures for default buildings. I am assuming therefore that you used a default building for the church?

Thank you so much for this really nice addon for FSX - it is particularly good to get another scenery enhancement for my former homeland and I am very grateful for all the effort you put into developing this.

That is BRILLIANT news to hear, and thanks for the advice on putting addons above ORBX.

Can confirm, i forget which orbx pack came with roof texture replacements.

Man am i happy i beat myself over the head getting the second 3D bridge to populate. That is one of the things i think ultimate terrain x does better than orbx, is 3D bridge replacement.

Thank you, also, yeah wizzkidd is correct that there have been landing points or triangles on the pad, i believe for dropping of patients. But they have undergone tons of changes and variations. Most recently, in 2025 the satellite image, the triangles are removed, and there is a giant H dead center in the apron. With of course the primary and secondary helipads. So i assume in 2025, they land dead center for patient drop off.

They do land centre. I just dropped it because I could tell you wanted the detail, and going on about the helipads, like you mentioned, took away from the point. I actually didn't know that you didn't know. Now I feel bad that you made the helipads look meh when you might say you could have changed them if you knew. The project is already finished, so like... I'm still grateful.

Basically that. Yeah. Does that info slightly reverse the work you did or? Oh and will it be published ON AVSIM? It's fine if not.
