So believe it or not, textures resolution can impact and in my experience would reduce autogen in some areas.

for example, on the DC designs f15, i deleted "scratched glass" textures in the cockpit, and got like a 3-4 fps boost

Oh wow!

SHEESH! Look at that sky! Currently using my Air Corps 112 flying from Beaumont to Athlone right now (Gear down to imitate slump pads). Well... WAS, but considering the time I think I'll reroute to Weston for the night. The dedication to using the actual heli technically is real.

Edit: I actually forgot that I virtually moved AC112 out of Athlone whilst I await the surprise that is your new Athlone project so that I can enter in and be surprised instead of spawn in and have it not be as special, so rerouting is technically the correct thing LOL. (I say Weston because you know, ATC shortage in Casement, five day non-24 hours)

Oh and important note, I am inactive between 11PM GMT and 9AM GMT as, yes, Ireland, means that I am asleep while you are still awake/asleep when I wake up / go to sleep, the opposite.

To show you the degree of work, probably more than 100+ hours over a few weeks. I did a square area of Texas that is larger than the island of Ireland that took over a year of patient work and testing. I am getting very close to publishing. I am probably going to exclude the greater lake area.

I will post a version with the lake later on for non-orbx Ireland users. As I am considering taking advantage of the sale myself, then I can make any adjustments for orbx users. Which wont take long. A week at most.

------

Here soon,

- finish the lake,

- add hospitals, not the towns. I actually scouted the towns, and the larger coastal cities are covered pretty well for default FSX.

Although, I have a 2000 ft tall Poolbeg Chimney smoke stack that I think are from the VFR freeware. That I need to take care of haha asap. I was like woah when I arrived at dublin.

But Dublin looks pretty good, similar to Los Angeles. In fact, took longer to load in significantly!

---

V2 of KEFD Space Center Houston

-- I want to go back and add details, and clean up a landclass here and there.

-- Possibly make a version that resembles the FSX version in P3D. (I noticed some textures when converted to P3D added rocky mountain like rocks to the trees in select areas). I believe it was cool conifer that became rocky mountain like textures.

--- Add helipads for galveston hospital area

--- Add details for Louisiana, and Texas helicopter destinations.

----

Deep pipeline projects

- Albuquerque, New Mexico, Santa Fe, Taos, Las Cruces

- San Antonio, and Austin Texas modernization (maybe)

--- - undecided if I like the retro look of austin, but for sure will add north-east San Antonio.

--- Dallas Tx-Ft Worth -Arlington (not looking forward to, because its so ugly giant metro plex)

--- secondary and tertiary Ireland towns.

----

Requests for anyone in the community I will consider. No guarantees, I'd like to get back to some good ole flying soon!

Oh my God that looks like an aerial view of the barracks. INSANE detail when you look at it in the editor!

Decent chance ill have it up by tomorrow. Once i finish the train station/yard. Im gonna place the buildings Connaught street.

Ill do one last land class scan. Maybe plop a tree here and there. But everything is done.

-----

Of course as I say that I run into my second airport design editor related issue... this is the not fun part. When things disappear for no reason. First it is the railroad bridge vector, now a landclass for cement on some parts of the map. (fixed -- was a corrupted landclass, that was reverting to a previous save state... man ADE is weird sometimes).

Ah, I forgot. Errors exist.

Gonna see if I can get the ORBX pack today. 'Going down to the caravan tomorrow so I won't be able to download the project if it is put out between tomorrow and Wednesday, so take your time with the project. Evaluate it and see if you need to add additional details.

Oh God I'm desperate. The sale ends on the 1st of July and I can't login to Orbx. I can't change my password because no email is coming through and I thought one of the mods said he unbanned me, and I'm going away for a few days from tomorrow. I can't buy it if I can't login. I can't make a new account either. Do you know what to do? I have already sent a support ticket but none of the suggestions worked so far.

One more thing, I have Nic's Ireland VFR part 1 -4. Will I have to uninstall any of those prior to getting ORBX EU Ireland? (Does it add those airports) or keep them?

Its all arbitrary, add on scenery is above the scenery file in the hierarchy. I would uninstall it, look at orbx, then reinstall it to see if it clashes. if it does, you simply remove it.

A lot of the questions you ask on the forum can be found by doing a search engine "fsx [fill in the blank]. This is why you might not be getting a lot of responses in your other threads.  I have done simple trial by error stuff to the fsx.cfg file, like buffer pools, etc. There is not much you can do because fsx was coded prior to 64 bit operating systems, not your computer.

Fair enough, I am also going to see if I can delete that other forum. I appear to have actually found a speed up.

Thats a little high alright😃! The Poolbeg chimneys are better known in Dublin as the Pidgeon House (absolutely no idea why!) but they were visual reporting/holding points on approach to EIDW (Dublin Airport) and I regularly had to hold over them back in the 70s and 80s in the RW when I flew out of EIDW (believe it or not the Irish Aero Club was based in EIDW until the authorities managed to evict them some time in the 90s I think). If they had been 2000ft high I think some of us might have collided with them!! I think they are still used as a VRP for the approach corridor across the city to Weston however but if I remember rightly they are about 500ft high!.
