Going to fight all urges to rush the project out, very close to being complete. Aiming for Saturday

Oh no, rushing by your standards would be a fatal mistake. Take your time. I don't care how long it takes as long as you believe it is perfect by non-rushing detailed standards.

  • Wow, another really nice scenery addon for Irealnd. I can confirm it seems to be perfectly compatible with Orbx Ireland after about 90 minutes flying around the area and lots of landings. I also teste

  • Added east Austin east of I35, now providing a clear runup to KAUS during night or day, its actually quite canny on approach if you have imaginesim Kaus objects or textures (my computer doesnt handle

(Edit: Should've said by ANY standards, if quality matters, it should be there.)

It is very close to being done. I am resisting rushing it, because the more I do, the more I catch details. This will hands down be the most detailed project I have done to date.

That sounds promising, the most detailed project. I really hope you notify any Irish simmers about this they'll be delighted. I CAN'T wait to see the detailed and passionate scenery. Again, don't rush it. There's the church, the big water tower, the Regional Sports Centre (the big land around it and stuff), but considering you're not going past Connaught street there's nothing else I can think of outside those perimeters.

That is about as far as I am going to take it, is right about where the sports centre across the river is. Not sure where the big water tower is?

Also, I cant find any tower frequencies used, do you want me to leave it unattended? where you call your own downwind? Or do you want me to add an air traffic controller? I am unsure if a small base like that would have a controller.

I don't actually really use ATC honestly. I am sort of casual but realistic ish in terms of flying the aircraft and stuff. In terms of IFR, I just look at real flightpaths and visualise and take into account the 10nm distance and 3k feet altitude for e.g.

The water tower is in an area of Athlone called Battery heights. If you look on a map, it's in a field. You don't have to add it. That reverses your progress. You can obviously see what it looks like too with a search.

Either way, it is common knowledge that Shannon Airport is the ATC consulted for AC112, so I'd use that if ever.

Got it, okay. I am really close to being done. Once the big points of interest are complete, the houses are downhill. I'll do a few final passes for details and landclass before it publishes.

😃 Amazing! I never really thought how big of an area coverage it was until I remembered the small size of the town.

I am not going to do anything east of R915. I already have the sheraton complete. All radio towers in the area. Just need to finish the rail infrastructure. Then small details and houses will be easy. The tricky part is doing a bunch of test flights, looking for where the landclass needs tightening.

This shouldnt be spoiling too much, here is a shot from 6900 feet. I am about to add the details that are going to glue it all together. When I say I am not doing east of R915 and Connought, it is still covered by landclass. Houses, fences, trees, and landclass is smooth sailing from here.

Also, I need to take my time to do the lake properly, it will require a lot of testing

Oh wow! That is amazing! And if this isn't spoiling much, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT ELSE ISN'T IN THIS SCREENSHOT! 😄

@Sweetd31

This is an important question that I have just after thinking of. I have Volanta, an ORBX software, and my parents were okay with me getting the subscription. They sell their EU Ireland package on the orbxdirect store and I was thinking that there is a chance that I might be able to get that. The reason I say this is because you most likely don't have to do the river at all. Oh, and another thing. I have an RTX 2060. I don't remember if I asked you this already, but what is your recommendation on getting FSX to run smoothly (60fps constantly or so), with fast loading times and stuff without like turning the scenery options down to zero. I have quite a bit of aircraft and I was wondering how I can do that.

Oh and, I COMPLETELY FORGOT THE SHERATON (Edit: AND Radisson Blu) EXISTED! OH MY GOD! (or atleast I forgot their use as a possible private helicopter area)

So any landclass work that i do, should override the orbx landclass, because i did this as an airport, and airport takes priority over scenery landclass (at least in my fsx)

i am unsure of what your question is, but i am certain you'd want this product if you want the rivers, lakes, roads, etc

https://orbxdirect.com/product/global-vector

The other one your considering for europe-UK will only include landclass (land textures), which will look pretty, but ill be honest is unaccurate, so i actually got rid of orbx for that reason.

If you want rivers, roads, lakes, etc, its orbx vector global that you want.

"Vector" = Roads, rail, beaches, shorelines, lakes, rivers, ponds, etc

I own ultimate terrain x for vector work. Its a lot less expensive, and super easy to use
