Working Projects

So any landclass work that i do, should override the orbx landclass, because i did this as an airport, and airport takes priority over scenery landclass (at least in my fsx)

i am unsure of what your question is, but i am certain you'd want this product if you want the rivers, lakes, roads, etc

https://orbxdirect.com/product/global-vector

The other one your considering for europe-UK will only include landclass (land textures), which will look pretty, but ill be honest is unaccurate, so i actually got rid of orbx for that reason.

If you want rivers, roads, lakes, etc, its orbx vector global that you want.

"Vector" = Roads, rail, beaches, shorelines, lakes, rivers, ponds, etc

Oh yes that's right! The vector class. I'm wondering if you could put the final project on hold while I see if I can ask my parents about the possibility of getting stuff from Orbx, because they're as well known as Steam and stuff, and plus they were okay with me getting the subscription for premium Volanta. Because that vector thing WILL MAKE A MAJOR DIFFERENCE if I get permission. I don't want you to make custom lakes and workarounds when I've decided to get Global vectors after all. Oh, and thanks for potentially saving me out of €20+ euros on just textures. I was talking about ORBX Ireland itself if you're wondering.

Im ready to release this bad boy, i can maybe do a version 2.0 later on to fit ultimate terrain x europe

Keep in mind Orbx ireland will not have roads, rail, lakes, etc.

How about i just make two versions, one with the lake? One without, because i have kept vector work to a bare minimum on purpose so far, with the consideration of other users who might have vector support.

Right... That's pretty important to know I'm guessing. I am so sorry that I have told you this late, I was NOT thinking at all.

Edit: I just saw your OTHER comment. I didn't expect for you to be okay with two versions. I'll go ahead with that actually. Because if I do get the vectors, I'll prob have access to the golf courses and other benefits nationwide too which'll be nice for other flights, and I can just swap scenery versions. Maybe in the final zip file, include the vector and non-vector work as like a double-pack.

Im just going to do two versions, one with the lake, one without.

The vector work ive done so far is so minimal up to this point. If you ever purchase Orbx vector or ultimate terrain x europe and need me to delete the bridges, i can do that later on.

The bridges being excluded would be the only thing i would be concerned about clashing.

As I stated, perfect idea. It'll make it easier for me. Thanks for lifting the short-term worry off of my shoulders. Oh, and I keep mentioning it over and over, but seriously, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for doing this project. This is a CHILDHOOD FLIGHT SIMMER DREAM that I STILL can't believe is actually happening!

Another thing. I have an RTX 2060 with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500 core. I don't remember if I asked you this already, but what is your recommendation on getting FSX to run smoothly (60fps constantly or so), with fast loading times and stuff without like turning the scenery options down to zero. I have quite a bit of aircraft and I was wondering how I can do that. I find it odd that I am running it slow with such a good processor compared to old ones.

Youre not gonna get 60 fps... i lock mine to 31 fps and that is a great benchmark for direct x 9 and weaker cpus

if you activatd direct x 10 and your fps gets worse, dont bother, youre cpu wont be able to achieve 60 fps.

but the answer WAS steves direct x 10 fixer

Sadly, I don't think Steve's DX10 fixer will become freeware, and what's the advice for the slow loading times? I have a few dlc and it usually takes around 2-4mins for things to load. Surely I can speed that up? Sometimes a CTD from the slow loading times resulting in a hang can occur too.

The amount of add on scenery is the only thing that affects load times.

Ah, I have the Ireland VFR sceneries (Sligo, Weston, Clonbollogue, the Ireland VFR and stuff), though I had to get rid of a lot of the sceneries in the Ireland VFR (Kerry and Clare locations for e.g.) because the load times were getting too long. The load times still ARE long. The only scenery I have is the payware ORBX Meigs Field (Got it from Steam), and the Ireland sceneries from Simviation and AVSIM. That doesn't include the aircraft such as Steam DLC (CT206, CT210M, C182Q, Piper PA32R-301 Carenado and Alabeo) and freeware (Cessna 172, ex-payware IRIS DA42 and DA40, FS2004 Cessna 182, HTAI BN-2B, C177, AIG PC-12, AW139, Bell 206, S-92)

Just to clarify, Orbx EU Ireland does come with accurate vector data.

Oh DOES it? Like what's in their Global Vector pack but just Ireland? It'd be handy to know because for the moment, I'm only really taking interest in Irish flying or at least, main focus is Ireland, so I do NOT want to have memory taken up for having vectors in places that I won't fly in.
