Orbx Ireland is really excellent as are all the scenery areas from Orbx but, believe it or not, it is probably the weakest of all the Orbx regional areas in terms of the amount of eye candy included compared to, for example, Orbx England, Germany or Norway or their amazing scenery areas from the west coast of the USA and Pacific Northwest.

How is it the weakest can I ask? If what I'm looking at is what I consider eye candy but not geographically eye candy, then what is?

Don't get me wrong, as I said, Orbx Ireland is really excellent (I wouldn't have recommended it otherwise!) and the countryside, as you fly over it, looks exactly like the Irish landscape. However, in comparison to the other Orbx regional scenery areas (I have them all), there appears to be somewhat fewer custom made autogen objects and models of points of interest such as castles, bridges, stadiums, iconic buildings, etc in Orbx Ireland.

Despite that observation however, I still think Orbx Ireland brings a massive improvement to VFR flying over the country and adds greatly to the sense of immersion when doing so. I am very grateful indeed that Orbx developed it!

Actually, less autogen is kind of okay for my FPS. Less autogen? Considering Ireland, I'd argue that's plenty. Oh and I wasn't being offended when I asked. I was genuinely curious how it was less than the others. I am happy with what I paid for, I got what I needed, the roads and lakes are actually fully extended, the quality is PRISTINE, no impact on FPS, and if SweetD is up to it, Athlone can now be adjusted for ORBX if needed.

the mesh and vector support is the most valuable things to own in fsx in 2025.

 

mesh = elevation, mountains, rivers, valleys

What does scenery objects from payware removed mean? Didn't get the meaning.

Meaning you can go into you fsx file and delete chunks of scenery form say aerosoft Manhattan. You just delete the .bgl files

i have a 2D bridge which looks good, but im gonna try and use an adjacent airport to populate a 3D bridge in athlone

Okay. I'm sorry I only got the EU pack so late, that means now the work may collide with the rest of the town. If I knew I was going to get it sooner, I would have supported you making a second version. Sorry.

I would also add a good weather engine and weather textures such as the Active Sky or Rex products.

Aerosoft Manhattan is great but can cause quite a hit on FPS and VAS!

Haha i promise it aint gonna be THAT off. You probably wont even notice. But i can delete the bridges that is easy fix.

I am probably going to take some weeks off once this is published. Any changes is going to come later. I'd rather work on different things. Both the railroad and the highway 6 was present, I had plenty of reference. I am certain even if I never publish a V2 of this for orbx, that it would be beyond accurate as is. 

So any orbx modifications is going to be after I have taken time off from this project. I mean this is what it looked like before. 

It was literally nothing but the N6, the river, and the railroad. I added literally everything you see in these images. Very much so a take it or leave type ordeal! Only for my sanity. Please, respect that. Understand that not even fsx default scenery is 100% accurate. 

 

Of course missing the rail bridge, working on a solution for that. 

I am beyond satisfied, and I am about to laugh when I see how much it aligns with orbx.
